The fence works, residents north and south of it say. At least it works for now on this snippet of the line.
"You hear it all the time: Fences don't work. Fences don't work," said Mark Winder, a transplanted New Englander and part-time deputy sheriff who lives on a small ranch outside Columbus, N.M., where a 3-mile stretch of wall was completed in August. "I live 2½ miles from the border, and the fence is working." and they said it could not and would not work!!!! lends allot more credibility to our ability to deport all illegals too. Yippy, skippy it will be done!!!! http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5271756.html

Every country is entitled to protect it's sovereignty as Mexico does on it's southern border. Fences work. That is why we use fences. If we build fences and monitor them, they work extremely well.

It will help if its ever finished.

Mr. Bush is dragging it out as long as he can. I don't expect President Clinton will get it completed either. She can drag her feet just as good as Mr. Bush.

I think building that fence is stupid and ridiculous.. People see it like everyone here is AMERICAN wich is Bull Sh**. Everyone here came from somehwere outa the US.

This place is simply racist and only uses illegal immigrants when it benefits them..

My opinion is it can't hurt, and it might help.

Let's build the sucker and find out once and for all.
