Hi, I want to return something that I purchased with a credit card. Can I refund it to another credit card of mine? Thanks.

The thing is that I closed the old card I made the purchase with due to a fraudulent charge, so I wonder if I can get the refund into the replacement card.

Usually companies will only refund a credit card purchase to the card it was purchased on.

No you can not. This is against the policy of the credit card companies. You have a couple of options.

1. Let them refund it to the closed account. This will give you a negative balance on the credit card. You can then call the company and request that they send you a check. Depending on the credit card company this will take about 2-3 weeks to get the check to you.

2. Some stores will refund it to a store gift card instead of a credit card. You still can't get the money back, but if you are going to this store again and they can do this it might be an alternative.

Make good the check, pay the bank fees. I don't know what 'interests' she could be claiming, especially since she sat on the check so long. Have her list all the charges, then tell her you will send a cashiers check or USPS money order, her preference, for $xx.xx -- just add the bank fees to the $80 & ignore the rest. If she argues, say it was your mistake, this settlement will cover her losses, and it is what you believe is fair. If you are going to do business at trade shows you must act like a business person. You have undoubtedly lost any future business with this woman. She can not ruin your business' reputation. She could haul you into court, wasting everyone's time & money -- some people do that. This is a business risk for everyone. You have to do the right thing because people will know if you are a cut corner person. It is so easy to spot, believe me.

Nope. To the card you used or maybe a store credit.

It depends on the cashier. If she wants to be anal she might not allow it. ... but it is possible.
