For the Jew and the Christian, the answer is found in Genesis 16, where GD has blessed Abram for his loyalty, and promised He would deliver him a son because Abram had tithed to Melchizedek. earlier in the Bible. But, they were impatient, and so, as it says...
1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bore him no children; and she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
2 And Sarai said unto Abram: 'Behold now, HaShem hath restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; it may be that I shall be builded up through her.' And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to Abram her husband to be his wife.
4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
5 And Sarai said unto Abram: 'My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: HaShem judge between me and thee.'
6 But Abram said unto Sarai: 'Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes.' And Sarai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her face.
7 And the angel of HaShem found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
8 And he said: 'Hagar, Sarai's handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou?' And she said: 'I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.'
9 And the angel of HaShem said unto her: 'Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.'
10 And the angel of HaShem said unto her: 'I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
11 And the angel of HaShem said unto her: 'Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because HaShem hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he shall be a wild *** of a man: his hand shall be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the face of all his brethren.'
13 And she called the name of HaShem that spoke unto her, Thou art a G-d of seeing; for she said: 'Have I even here seen Him that seeth Me?'
14 Wherefore the well was called 'Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
15 And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.
16 And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
and Genesis 17
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, HaShem appeared to Abram, and said unto him: 'I am G-d Almighty; walk before Me, and be thou wholehearted.
2 And I will make My covenant between Me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.'
3 And Abram fell on his face; and G-d talked with him, saying:
4 'As for Me, behold, My covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a G-d unto thee and to thy seed after thee.
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their G-d.'
9 And G-d said unto Abraham: 'And as for thee, thou shalt keep My covenant, thou, and thy seed after thee throughout their generations.
10 This is My covenant, which ye shall keep, between Me and you and thy seed after thee: every male among you shall be circumcised.
11 And ye shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of a covenant betwixt Me and you.
12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any foreigner, that is not of thy seed.
13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised; and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
14 And the uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken My covenant.'
15 And G-d said unto Abraham: 'As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16 And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her; yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.'
17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart: 'Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?'
18 And Abraham said unto G-d: 'Oh that Ishmael might live before Thee!'
19 And G-d said: ''Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee; behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
21 But My covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.'
22 And He left off talking with him, and G-d went up from Abraham.
23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as G-d had said unto him.
24And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
26 In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
27 And all the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money of a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
So. a sibling rivalry led to the formation of the 3 major monotheistic religions. The Jews and Christians believe they are from Abraham through Isaac, and that the covenant covers them as HaShem (G-D) said He would bless Isaac and grant him the covenant of lands. But, HaShem/G-D/Allah to the Muslims, also said He would bless Ishmael and grant him many nations. Mohammed is a descendant of Ishmael. In 600 AD, in his sermon, he proclaimed all those who did not believe in him to be infidels.
The rabbinic Jews believe they are the descendants of Abraham and Isaac and, although they were told they would not inherit the land when G-D separated Aaron and his sons in the Book of Deuteronomy, and made them high priests, they deny the followers of Jesus, the Christ, are Jewish in any way.
The Christians who are Sunday churchgoers believe the New Testament replaced the Old Testament, and whatever G-D had promised Abraham and Isaac is now theirs because Jesus was born in that Holy Land.
The Muslims believe that the land is theirs by divine province.
The Messianic Jews, the original Christians and Biblical Jews, believe the land is theirs because it is an everlasting covenant given to them by G-D, that the high priests had proven fallible, that the high priests had never been given the land by G-D in the Bible, and that the New Testament is not a replacement of the Law of Moses, but a replacement of the old system of sacrifices and high priests as prophesied in the Book of Ezekiel, and fulfilled by Jesus' arrival, death and resurrection and the subsequent indwelling of the Holy Spirit inside of the believers, whether they were born Jewish or Gentile, for they are all One. The Torah-observant Messianic Jew believes, as do churchgoing Christians, that Jesus is GD incarnate, but they believe the Torah is the Law, and that when mankind broke the seal of the covenant, there was a need for G-D to issue a new covenant, and that one would feature a move from the world of the flesh to the world of the spirit, each man would be judged on his own and not because he was one of "the Chosen people" and that Jesus would be "the Good Shepherd, the servant David, the prince" all of which is prophesied in the Original Book of the Jews and fulfilled in the New Testament. A covenant or testament is a one-way promise, which in this case was from G-D to the people, the seal is the sign that one is accepting of the covenant, such as when one gives a last will and testament, they are giving something away to others, and the seal would be a witnessing and acceptance of the will and testament, so was it with G-D.
So, Muslims, Jews and Christians all believe in the same GD, by different names (Adonai, HaShem, Allah, G-D, Father, etc.) but the debate is over whose people are to be blessed, which prophet is to be followed, and when GD comes again, and the Messiah/Mahdi deals in his way with the infidels, who will be blessed and who will not. That is the crux of the argument.
In the end, only GD will tell, and it may be all of those who believed...it is not for man to say.

Islam and Christianity got on fine together until the crusades in the 11th through 13th centuries when the Christians went to liberate the so called "Holy Land" from the Islamic rulers. In the best tradition of the Christians they put as many unbelievers (read Muslims) to the sword as they could get hold of.
Things got a lot better again between Islam and Christianity until the formation of the State of Israel just after WW-II and have in some areas deteriorated since then due to Western "Christian" Countries meddling in local affairs in the Middle East, supporting corrupt governments such as Eqypt and the old Shar of Iran and corrupt kingdoms such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The vast majority of the worlds Muslims don't have any individual malice towards Christians, bur rather it's political in nature. The same cannot be said about many USA based Christians.

Christians believe Jesus was son of God, or part God. Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, but still only a mortal man.
That and all the wars between the two religions over thousands of years. Lots & lots of blood has been shed fighting about religion.

Lots of times people with different beliefs come to blows because everyone feels strongly about what they believe. I've seen people get into fights over who has the best car, so you can only imagine the types of messes people can get in over something as deep for them as religion. It's just human nature. We'd fight about things whether religion existed or not.

the situation seems first of all the religious factor. faith sees technological understanding's potential to construct itself on assertion, hypothesis and verify out and could become envious of technological understanding's seen, verifiable technique. So it tries to mimic the approach, recasting its arguments as theories, sweeping the mandatory gaps of religion out of sight, and tacking on despite textile "evidence" seems to in fantastic condition. that's cheating, the two to the international and to its actual purpose. faith is approximately faith, approximately looking previous the glaring and searching for something greater suitable. It calls for consistent recommitment. that's something yet particular. people who seek for "fact" have lost their faith. technological understanding, on the different hand, is all approximately fact. It rejects pat reasons and exams assumptions, searching for blunders and inconsistencies, with the suitable purpose of having the reason precise. this boundaries technological understanding to the observable international, yet a international that keeps to be too deep to thoroughly understand. each and every nicely-typical concept could desire to have the potential to alter itself to account for clean, contradictory information till it no longer can and yields to a greater moderen, greater advantageous concept. A scientist who has invested lots right into a concept that he can no longer evaluate a demonstrable yet radical new interpretation stumbles into the area of religion and loses medical objectivity. Scientists and theologians could certainly, ultimately, be searching for the comparable element, an underlying HOW this is indistinguishable from the suitable WHY. yet their disciplines are incompatible. If technological understanding does not preserve objectivity, it no longer learns. If faith does not proceed to explore for deeper meaning, its pronouncements exchange into esoteric minutiae. they could desire to each preserve their distance and their very very own integrity, whilst respecting the others' jurisdiction. otherwise we've a medieval clutter of meaningless secret. i will do without the craze, yet I insist on a clean separation between reason and instinct.

Throughout history, Muslims and Christians have always lived together in peace. Its unfortunate that some people use the name of religion to create conflict and cause evil. If you watch the news today, you will always hear bad news (robberies, rapes. etc..)
in the headlines. You rearely hear the good news.
Througout history, Muslims and other people of different faiths have lived side by side in peace. Muslims and Jews lived in harmony in Spain for a long time. Palestinians excepted jews in their homeland after their persecution under the Nazis. There are many Arab Jews and Arab Christians that have lived in the Middle East with majority Arab Muslims throughout history. This is proof that coexistance and harmony does exist with the Muslims and people of other faiths. Unfortunately, the media pleays a major role in creating an image of constant conflict.
Many people may be surprised that Muslims love Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the Quran, no woman is given more attention than Mary. Mary receives the most attention of any woman mentioned in the Quran even though all the Prophets with the exception of Adam had mothers. Of the Quran's 114 chapters, she is among the eight people who have a chapter named after them. The nineteenth chapter of the Quran is named after her, Mariam. Mariam means Mary in Arabic. The third chapter in the Quran is named after her father, Imran. Chapters Mariam and Imran are among the most beautiful chapters in the Quran. Mary (peace be upon her) is the only woman specifically named in the Quran. An authentic Haddith states that the Prophet said, "The superiority of 'Aisha to other ladies is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. meat and bread dish) to other meals. Many men reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except Mary, the daughter of Imran and Asia, the wife of Pharaoh." (Bukhari 4.643). Indeed, both Mary and Pharoah's wife are an example (Quran 66:11-12). The Virgin Mary plays a very significant role in Islam. She is an example and a sign for all people.
Jesus is a Prophet and a Messenger. A Messenger is a Prophet who is given revelation from God. Whereas the Torah was revealed to Moses, the Gospel was revealed to Jesus. Messengers are a mercy, guidance, and sign from God. "And God will teach him (Jesus) the Book and Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel, and (appoint him) as a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message):
'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God's leave. And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I bring the dead into life, by God's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe. (I have come to you) to attest the Torah which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (before) forbidden to you. I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear God, and obey me. It is God Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'" (Quran 3:48-51).
In the Qur'an, Christians are often referred to as among the "People of the Book," i.e. people who have received and believed in previous revelation from God's prophets. There are verses that highlight the commonalities between Christians and Muslims, and other verses that warn Christians against sliding towards polytheism in their worship of Jesus Christ.
Commonalities:
"Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians -- whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor shall they grieve" (2:62, 5:69, and many other verses).
"...and nearest among them in love to the believers will you find those who say, 'We are Christians,' because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant" (5:82).
"O you who believe! Be helpers of God -- as Jesus the son of Mary said to the Disciples, 'Who will be my helpers in (the work of) God?' Said the disciples, 'We are God's helpers!' Then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion
But We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed" (61:14).
Warnings:
"If only they [i.e. Christians] had stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them a party on the right course, but many of them follow a course that is evil" (5:66).
"Oh People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion, nor say of God anything but the truth. Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, was (no more than) a messenger of God, and His Word which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him. So believe in God and His messengers. Say not, 'Trinity.' Desist! It will be better for you, for God is One God, Glory be to Him! (Far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs" (4:171).
"The Jews call 'Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the son of God. That is but a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be on them; how they are deluded away from the Truth! They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary. Yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him! (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)" (9:30-31).
Please do remember that Islam is Perfect, Muslims are not!
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need further help.
In peace...
