How do you get a restraining order in Michigan?

I want a restraining order against this guy that has been stalking me. He told me I had to have sex with him or else he would destroy my life. He told me I had to give him my adderall prescription also. He kept sending me hateful messges....saying how fat, ugly, and disgusting, worthless, etc I am. Later, he sent messages saying he was sorry and that he couldn't live without me and if I stopped talking to him he would kill me. Last night he sent a mysterious message that said "you'll never guess what I just did." he just creeps me out....all thoes hateful messages really upset me. At the time I had blond hair and he said I had to dye my hair brown or else he would destroy my life. Someone told me that this is terroristic threats and harrasment. If I printed out these Instant Messenger conversations between us where he said he would kill me if I stopped talking to him, would the police take me seriously? He told me if I called the police he would just tell them I am a "psycho"

Make a Stalking Report on him with you local PD. Go to your local circuit court and tell them what is happening. They usually have information that will help you. Contact your local Safe house. They are experts in helping people with your problem. Do not be the victim be proactive to solve this problem.

You have to go down to your courthouse and file for a restraining order against this person they can issue you a temporary one but you;ll have to go to court for a longer lasting one.The judge will listen to why you feel you need one and will issue you a longer one.You need to make a police report before going down to file.Print out the messages and take them with you to the police dept or county Sheriffs office.

if i were you, i would not go thru all the trouble of getting a restraining order..........just save all of your emals you get from him......saying things like that over email is called harrassment by communication.......

i would just get a protection from abuse order...that makes it illegal for him to have any contact with you........but u will also have to prove your case...print out all your emails and im's and give them to the police.......they will most likely take you seriously....even if they dont, you can still force them to investigate the situation by filing a complaint against this guy..........u could do this either at the district magistrate office, or in some places, the county courthouse.......

and also police are more professional then taking one person's word over another.....they always look at the three sides to every story.....notice i did not say two......there are three sides......your side...his side...and the truth.......they will question you both, they will not take your word over his or his word over yours.........until at least they completed their investigation........

if he tells the cops that you are psycho, they will automatically know something is up.........they will notice his immaturity that he has been displaying......

lastly...i must tell you...please do not let things others say to you get to you.....you are not worthless....although i cant prove it, i am sure you are not disgusting......i dont believe anyone is ugly......and i dont know for sure because i dont know you.....but dont feel bad about comments about your weight...........whether you are overweight or not, it should not matter to someone who really cares about you.......nobody should be made fun of because of their weight,

you dont deserve to be treated like this....stand up for yourself!!!!
