What are some fun indoor games that I can play with my dog that will also be educational for her (and me!). She knows her basic commands but I want to do things that are different and fun.

My dog is trained. I am looking for fun indoor activities because it's getting colder. Not a dog trianer or site! But thanks for the information! It all looks good.

You can do a Yahoo search for Dog Training, Activities to do with Your Dog, Keeping a Dog Happy, How to Avoid Dog Boredom, etc.

There are tons of websites out there on dogs... i hope you find some good information.

You might also check the library for books about how to keep your dog happy.

I know it might sound silly but I was looking for something fun to do with my 7 year old dog which would not be too strenuous on her as it's getting really hot here now with the summer. I ordered from that lady in the US a book about dancing with your dog. In a few session she has mastered 4 of the circle move and I did not even have to use many treats. She seems to really enjoy herself and it's good fun for her and for you. Just keep it short (2 x 15min a day) and fun, she seems to love it really

This is not a game, more of a trick, if you have tought your dog "leave it" then you can tell your dog to lay down then stack your dog treats on your dogs paws. This is great for impressing house guests, and i am speaking from experience. If you you dog doesn't know this trick, then you ma want to try placing a treat in front of your dog. Then say leave it. if your dog picks up the treat, get it out of your dogs mouth, and try again. Give your dog about 3 seconds to leave it alone, and then go from there.

Sometimes, we play "find" with our dogs. You get a little treat of some sort, and put it somewhere they can get it, but not necessarily just out in the open. Point to it, and say "find". Once they catch on to the game, you can go through the house hiding treats in various places and have your dog find them.

dogs love games. Hide a tiny snack under one of three dixie cups and have them find which one it's under. Hide and seek, you hide they seek. Hide a toy and tell it to find it. Biscuit on the nose and flip to get it.
