Once I was up until 6:30 a.m. jumping and dacing/ singing for hours to loud music, without being tired at all. I was shaking because I was so active and could barely type from the shaking. I even started climbing the furniture in my room, like the dressers and stuff. I was so happy and had high self esteem. Is this considered a manic episode? Or not..?

NO i'm not on drugs..there is like a .000001 percent chance someone drugged me. And yes, a few days later I did get depressed and got out of school early because of it. Teachers didn't know what was wrong with me. I'm very prone to mood swings I get them often, sometimes extreme like this.

Definitely not normal. The shaking was because of your body pumping too much adrenalin. I doubt if you slept well that first night either. You should get a check-up if it was recently to see if you were drugged.

Were you on drugs? If drugs weren't part of the picture, it was definitely a manic episode. What happened afterward--did you sleep a lot and feel really depressed, etc.?

You should see a psychiatrist.

Sure sounds like it. That or you were high. Any chance someone drugged you?

I wouldn't worry about it if it only happened once and you aren't prone to mood swings and depression.

I used to be friends with someone who was bipolar -his brother and mother were also bipolar. What you're describing sounds like it. Do you have strong emotional highs and lows? Does anyone in your family suffer from manic episodes or bipolar disorder?

You should discuss this with your doctor and/or see a therapist.
