Most vets will do a free first exam on shelter animals. Needs to see a vet. Most likely an upper respiratory infection. They will put her on antibiotics to clear that up.

You can't. If it is a productive sneeze (goo flys out of her nose) then you might need to see a vet. But give it 3 days or so. Colds are usually caused by a virus and the vet can't do anything unless it turns into a bacterial infection. If, after 3 days the cat is no better or is worse, then see the vet.

First of all, Thank you for adopting. It means so much to each and every person there. I work at an animal shelter, and I speak from experience when I say that.

Second, this is common in shelter cats. It's an upper respiratory infection. It's basically, a cold in a cat. Take the cat to your vet as soon as you can. Most likely the cat will be put on Clavamax, or Cefa drops. This is very common, and is fairly easy to treat. don't give up on your kitty.

Both cats we got from our local humane society came with an upper respiratory infection which they spread to the other cats in the house--it's common. The vet has treatment for it.

hi -- any time you get an animal from a place like that, even if it's had imunizations, you really need to take it to a vet to be checked over.

respiratory infections are airborne, and cats easily contract these things...

take care....

I could be upper respatory, take her to the vet. It might be the new smell of the new surroundings, if that is the case, let her be, she should soon be over it.

You should take her back and get them to treat her since you just got her.
