Where is it written that God loves homosexuals?

2007-11-04 14:16:32 · answer #1 · answered by ? 6 · 1 3

That's two different issues.

God loves (wants the best for them) all humans. Homosexuals qualify as human, therefore God loves them too.

God said that the best way to partner, raise kids, and have sex is a marriage between a man and a woman that love God and love each other. Anything else is dangerous and can have very bad consequences. Sometimes you don't have a choice like when you're raped or a single parent - but marriage is always a choice.

(Note: this answer is from mainstream Christian theology. A different religion will give you a diferent answer.)

I am not a preacher, but to my way of thinking God does not marry people anyway, people do. And it is peoples legal or religious beliefs which makes marriage allowed or not and some homosexuals have gotten married so it is becoming possible as it is up to people and not God anyway.

The answer is in Genesis2. God created a male and female to be lifetime partnerrs to help each other. And that is what we recognize as believers that God is the one that instituted marriage not man.

Genesis 2:18-24 New King James Version

18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Jesus repeated the Genesis account in Matthew 19:4-6

4"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'[a] 5and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'[b]? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

Now from these 2 scriptural texts there is no inference that would allow for same sex marriage. Nor does it mean to hate homosexuality.

Even in the cities of Sodom and Gomorah God would have saved the city if he had found more righteous people in there other than Lot. So bad behaviour that does not meet with God's standard of holiness and goodness is not acceptable to God.

God said in Isaiahi 64:6 "But we are all like an unclean thing,And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away."

This means all of us on Earth are sinners. All sinners can come to God. Even Christians at one time were sinners also. But we realized we had to replent of our sins so that we could be made righteous in God. And that is what the cross of Jesus Christ is all about and the salvation message. We accept God's forgivenss for sin because of what Jesus Christ did for us. So that we can be be clean again and be reborn in God's nature and Spirit and fulfill God's will on earth to man, through our changed hearts and lives.

All scripture is in New King James Version

Learn grammar, go to school, if you want to have faith in religion that's fine, but at least defend yourself better. "if God loves homosexuals, why He doesn't allows to marry them?" is not a sentence. Secondly, I believe in science, and I don't believe religion should get in the way of anyone if no harm comes to anyone as a result. Think of all the lesbian porn that wouldn't exist if not for homosexuals. Think of all the women who are wearing gorgeous clothing, and have fabulous fashion ideas because of the gay men we have..... Homosexuals rock!!! <3

Where do some "Christians" believe God would endorse homosexual marriage when he calls the act an abomination?

Oh, I know, we can manipulate the Scripture for our benefit.
The religious spirit.

God loves his creation but it is their lifestyle He opposes.

I don't care what people say about it, it is what God says about it.
His ways are final.

God loves the sinner. Not the sin.
God loves everyone. God does not love sin.

God loves the person, but He despises the sin they commit ... and marrying each other is a sin, that is why He does not allow it.

The government doesn't, not the Adonai. Elohim is all about love. Discrimination and hatred is a human invention.

God can only do so much. If institutions on Earth choose to misinterpret his word and oppress, hate, kill, and persecute people who are homosexual, then it is not God who prevents gay marriage, but our fellow man.
