you would be suprised how many wiccans ive met in the army. Alot of us had our faith as christians shaken when we went "down range" and a good number turned to panganism

Count me in.
Why do they always insist Wiccans worship dirt? No matter how many times we explain that we honor the divine as being all around us. Don't they realize that we know they are being purposefully obtuse?
As to the long march comment: True, not all Pagans like to get out and sweat and get eaten by bugs. But most of us do like it! I've seen alot of Pagan primitive campers.

Hmm... I'm not specifically Wiccan, but I'm an eclectic pagan, and I was in the Army for about 7 years.
I'll say this much... my faith was far more balanced during my time in service than most of the Christians. I was also far more able to understand people of varying cultures than the Christians in my units. I could also never be accused of using my religion to try to gain favoritism from the chain of command... like all the pretenders going to the "Officer's Bible Study" just to suck up to their superiors. (I always found that funny.)
Oh, and as for the comment about Pagans probably being unable to last long on ruck-marches... that's hilarious. Most of the Pagans I know are FAR more outdoorsy than the people of Judeo-Christian persuasions. Pagans tend to spend a lot of tie outdoors; camping, hiking, exploring. We're most at-home outdoors. I was usually still going strong at the end of 10-mile ruck marches when the good little Christians were using God's name in vain to complain about their aching feet. And I slept like a log when we had to sleep on the ground with nothing but our poncho liners and plastic sleep roll... because I'm comfortable in nature, in the domain of the Mother Goddess and the Green Man.
Also... in regards to the "worshipping dirt" comment... also funny. I could really use a laugh tonight. That would be the same as saying that Christians worship statues of of a dead guy and wood and a 2,000 year old book. Give me a break. For those who haven't been paying attention, pagans jokingly call it "dirt worshipping" as a reference to the fact that we see the Divine in ALL things, and that the earth itself is the greatest physical manifestation of the Divine that we can touch with our own hands. And when I was out in the field for training OR possible combat, the fact that my boots were firmly planted on my Mother Earth was enough strength for me.
Either way, I spent a lot of time trying to get the more closed-minded chaplains to realize that they had to accept the pagan soldiers in their units as much as the soldiers of their own denominations. It was a long, uphill battle. It might never be over... but I've passed that baton. I got out of the Army in May after 7 long years, and my personal beliefs are still intact.

The usual idiots abound, I see, thinking pagans worship dirt. Too bad these boobs don't educate themselves before they make fools of themselves for the world to see.

Everyone uses pagans and they do not even know it!
Its easier to point the finger and sling mud. All that does is make people angry and hate others and it continues on and on while people like you continue to ask stupid questions that they do not necessarily care if they get answers or not, just another person trying to hate!
This isn't even a question!
Questions like this does not unite our country, it separates and we are in big trouble, WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Not to offend or anything, but most of the wiccans I know wouldn't last too long on any long marches. They're more indoor types. Or at least, outdoor as long as there is food nearby types.

The only thing that is kinda silly about Wicca is that they worship the earth. Why would anybody with sense worship dirt?
Why not worship the one who made earth and dirt?
