I do but I dont want to get out at 3:15. Anyways we students barely get enough sleep. So what im saying is that if we went to bed at 12 then we would still get 7 or 8 hrs of sleep. For the past 4 years I have barely gotten 6 hours of sleep. Seriously. the same with my friends. That doesnt even include ppl who take the bus. Maybe if school started later it would be better. Im thinking abt starting a petition because of the health consequences but I also need to see the downside. So please share your opinions on this subject.

I have seen studies that support your position. Young and teenagers all have a later sleep cycle and have a hard time starting early in the morning. But you are going to be required to spend the same number of hours at school. That could be getting out later, which would be a problem for those students that need to work after school. and athletics which require the after school hours while there is still daylight.

A second alternative would be to start school later, get out at the same time and go to school 12months a year. Which would you prefer?

i totally agree. i always fall asleep in my first two classes every day because i am really tired. a lot of my friends are exactly the same way as me. high school shouldnt start until like 9:00 or 9:30. the downside would be that we wouldnt get out until 3:00 or 3:30, but at least teenagers such as myself could sleep.

I totally agree that schools should not start until 9:30 a.m. Most teenagers are sleep deprived.
