Jesus said in John 5:19 that the son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative. In John 14:28, Jesus said that the Father (Jehovah) greater than i am.

the whole jesus story in the bible is a very confused one, hence the confusion. The word father is as confusing if understood in its literal meaning.(we are all children of god-his creation, hence the father is not exclusive to jesus)

Christians of old times only refer to God like a father figure in that he has authority yet care and whom we are expected to obey.So whoever obeyed god in old times were called "sons of god" and "children of god"

In Mathew 5:9:
"Blessed are the peace-makers,for they shall be called the children of God"

Jesus was a man with a divine message from god-his creator
No father,No son
This perception of jesus and god is what the majority in the world today unanimously believe in(you may be surprised but lots of statistics prove it).

the discussion below will challenge anyone who thinks otherwise:

thus what you are saying is ever so true but what is your point?Jesus also said In (Jhn:3:16-17)"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life...For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;but that the world through him might be saved'....
Listen friend dont mean any harm, but folk need to stop trying to put God the Father and God the Son at odds with each other. Some folks may not can except it but ,God,Jehovah,Yahweh,I am,that I am (Ex.3:14) Holy one of Isreal Isa:43, and i could go on and on but you get the point.
no human cannt even get to God except we go through God the Son.I thank god for Jesus but DO YOU?

Jason, I believe that you need to pay a bit closer attention to things than what you have. True, people do get things messed up, primarily because they don't study for themselves. Christians are to worship God, but petition through Jesus. Jesus said to ask in His name and the Father would do it. Those who know better worship God, but do make their prayer requests in Jesus' name, which is Biblically accurate.

specific, Catholic christians worship God the Holy Trinity as in God the daddy, Jesus-God the son, and God the Holy spirit, yet One God. Yahweh, Jehovah are the different call of God the Holy Trinity. Yahweh is call of God in the previous testomony. at a similar time as Jehovah is yet another own call of God the Holy Trinity.

Salam

The father is Adam.
Yahweh or Jehovah is another name used by other people to discribe God or The Lord. There was 5 scribes in the times of the first book that you have quoted and each gave a name to The Lord differently as they did call him Elohum also. Please study further you will see you missed a great deal of information.
Don't walk down the street looking just forward, you will miss the bus on the right side, and you don't want to miss that bus! Lol, give yourself a slap will ya! My good Lord even the grade 1 class around here knows there was more than 1 name for The Lord Allah SWT All Mighty he is one and Absolute and he is in a place of NO TIME! Call him what you like do you really think it makes a differance to him? Lol what a joke! He gave you his names, study them!

Interestingly Jesus was a Jew, therefore he worship the Jewish God, Jehovah. In fact he taught his followers to do the same thing.

Hebrews 5:7: "He truly worshiped God, and God listened to his prayers."

Why do you insist on naming the Lord God when he refused the answer of a name to Moses. Names are given. Why would God need a given name.
Christians worship God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Three persons of one God. All three in existence before time and heaven and earth.

Tradition.

It is sad that some self-described "Christians" have worked to betray God and the bible.

True Christianity is based on living in harmony with and preaching the "good news" of God's Messianic Kingdom by Christ Jesus. The true Christian congregation is organized primarily to perform this global Scriptural assignment.

(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations

(Luke 9:6) They went through the territory from village to village, declaring the good news

(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

By stark contrast with so-called "religious" activists, however, Jehovah's Witnesses note pointedly that biblical "good news" is not about such things as abortion or homosexuality or the death penalty or Iraq or pharmaceuticals or psychiatry. Individual Jehovah's Witnesses may have opinions on such issues, but they do not advocate for or against these issues as though it were a primary message from God.

Sadly, so-called "religious" activists distract from the real message of God and obfuscate the bible's "Good News". These self-absorbed religionists focus so much attention of their human agendas that they ignore the godly teachings that can really help people.

Jehovah's Witnesses go from house to house to encourage and upbuild. Their work is to spread the "Good News", which is about the Kingdom of God, and the blessings the Messianic King Christ Jesus will bring.

(Luke 8:1) Journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God

(Acts 10:36) Declare to them the good news of peace through Jesus Christ
