Raising plants in the water works on many vegetables, like tomatoes, potatoes, and cucumbers.
I have a solar room built onto my house. People are amazed what I can grow there. We also have a trom wall on the south side that helps hold in the heat. It was easy and inexpensive to build.

Yah, easy to do. Get an old cast off fish tank. Put a layer of gravel in the bottom, then a layer of charcoal, then some good potting soil. You can get grow lights and a flourescent fixture at Home Depot or Lowes. Put it on a timer for at least 12 hours a day. I grew some great weed in mine until the durn cat got into it, ate all the weed, was happy and peed in the tank.
