Im a doctor who specializes in eating disorders and I am here to tell you this is not a healthy practice; although it has been referred to as fasting in religious purposes, this doesn't seem to be the case as weight is concerned.

Straight up if you do not ingest any food for three weeks you will die. Having gone through the restriction process to better understand my patients I can tell you it is a living hell. Your body is accustomed to its usual everyday diet, and thus will be expecting that food, and if you just suddenly stop eating cold turkey for three weeks you will enter a state that I can personally describe as worse then hell. First you will feel hunger which is the least of your problems, which will then evolve into a constant thought of hunger, followed by a state of unease. Then your body realising it is not recieving the food it needs will start to panic. You will feel sick, anxious, nervous; you wont be able to sleep, you will have cold sweats. After a day or two your brain will start to take damage because it requires carbohydrates to function and process. You will start to feel what seems like a mild headache at first but will soon turn to a large throbbing pain. Soon it will feel as though hundreds of daggers are being plunged into your skull. You will then become dizzy and lightheaded as your brain slowly shuts down. You will become sick beyond any sickness you have ever known; followed shortly by a loss of consciousness. If no emergency measure is taken at this point, you will die.

Do not do this, no matter what do not do this. There are much healthier means of losing weight that will actually make you feel better, literally better. Try eating healthier foods if you don't already, try getting out more and getting a little more exercise. If you must restrict food do it in extreme moderation; dieting is ok but don't go overboard, our bodies need food to live. Do not resort to purging for any reason whatsoever! Purging can be taking diuretics or laxatives or inducing vomiting, if you do this your body will treat food as a toxin because of how you treat it and being able to eat again at all can be very very difficult without your body rejecting it.

Losing weight takes time, please don't rush it; your body will pay the consequences!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

The exact amount of pounds varies accroding to age height weight and excersize...you will actually lose more weight if you try a low calorie diet. After a certain amount of time (it is debated how long ranging from 3 to 12 days) your body will be extremely effiecient at maintaing its primary functions and you will burn less fat than if you were to use a low cal diet. Low cal diets help get fast results but long term prove ineffective because eventually the diet is end, then caloric intake is increased while metabolism is at basal state...hence wieght gain

This is called fasting. Jesus and Moses did it for 40 days. You can lose up to 30 pounds. See site below. Beyonce lost 20 pounds in 10 days on the lemonade fast.

You ought to burn roughly 3500 energy with the intention to lose one million pound. So reducing your weekly consumption of energy through 10,500 (three kilos X 3500 energy) will have to permit you to lose three kilos every week. Provided you comply with the ancient rule of 2000 energy on a daily basis, you will have to be consuming 14000 energy every week (7 days X 2000 energy) to hold your present weight. To subtract three kilos in a single week, you might ought to devour a trifling 3500 energy (14000 energy - 10500 energy) for the complete week. Honestly, you might be larger off growing the volume of energy you burn instead than reducing the volume you're taking in. Keep in brain, the quantity of energy by myself don't examine a meals's fattening advantage. There are plenty of elements to keep in mind except the quantity of energy.

Plenty of pounds.. but what do the lost pounds matter when you will be in the hospital suffering from malnutrition and or other health problems.. Your best bet is to actually speak with a nutritionist who will advise you on how to eat/ what to eat/ when to eat...
