I need to know this since I want to order a book from Europe and they need to know if the VAT tax is applicable. (It means Value Added Tax, I think.) Or, does an individual have to pay it or it that just for corporations? I hope that wasn't too confusing. Thanks to any who can help me.

I want to order a book from Belgium and the order form says to indicate if I am VAT exempt or not- it asks for a "VAT number". Since this is a private, personal order and not one for a corporation, does this mean I must pay? The book costs 60 Euros; how much VAT would that be if I must pay?
