Why is the ps3 so great next - generation console when it hits the next year of 2008?

People bash the PS3 so much that they forget 360 too had a mediocre launch and it took a year for the first really decent game to come out, i.e. Gears of War. 360 also had a lead start and didn't have any competition, unlike PS3 which is contending both 360 and Wii, at a higher price. If you look at the figures, PS3 sales have been almost identical to 360 in its first year. Now that PS3 costs only $399 the sales should pick up, while Halo 3 and 360 sales inevitably decline. Give PS3 some time, I think it will definitely make a comeback. I don't deny 360 has a great bunch of games this holiday, but next year belongs to PS3.

What we forget is that Sony is a business, Sony didn't want every Tom, Dick and Harry buying the PS3 hence the high price, but also it lives up to the name next generation console like the Wii. unfortunately for all those that brought a Xbox 360, wasted money the xbox 360 is just a more powerful version of the Xbox, not really next gen is that really!!! with the adult PS2 owners moving to PS3 and the young PS2 gamers and new gamers buying the Wii, its no real wonder that Microsoft is considering chucking the Xbox 360. Your rite the PS3 will have its time but it probably wont be next year, I say 2009 is year of the PS3!!!

You said it man! Just wait a month and SOO many 360 owners will be jealous, hopin that they got the PS3. I'm surprised that more 360 owners haven't said **** it and switched even after several failures. I was gonna get one too, but after I saw RRoD i said no thx, and I realized that PS3 has a better future. Dam all my friends got 360, but I went with PS3 (Although I still haven't gotten it yet, fudging shipping taking forever!) and we'll see who's disappointed in a few years.

Im more for PS3 but like the Halo series, i cant play that after i beat it. People play the multiplayer alot but i dont, some people are like "Oh well then you must suck then." No. I can beat most my friends its just kinda boring, Half-Life is where its at. But PS3 wins overall just needs some games.

Hell yeah, it also has free online play and it has resistance and tons of other good games. i might get a 20gb version and keep my ps2.
