They are the Holy Trinity. Three in one. "In Christianity, Trinity is the doctrine that God is one being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons (not to be confused by "person"): the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth), and the Holy Spirit. Since the 4th century, in both Eastern and Western Christianity, this doctrine has been stated as "three persons in one God," all three of whom, as distinct and co-eternal persons, are of one indivisible Divine essence, a simple being." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity

There were earlier versions of Christianity and current doctrines who believed/believe that Jesus was man, prophet and Holy but not God.
In my half dozen readings of the Bible, some phrases stuck with me. Knowing the Bible was compiled after debate and what was acceptable, it's like a law before Congress. The Bible is law for mankind. Some laws from Congress are just bad. I wish I could read the originals. I wish we had adequate translations from the originals. Greek and Hebrew are tricky.
I have translated some Spanish documents differently than my instructor because of literal meanings and context. I grew up with Spanish. Sometimes, one has to know poetic meanings and slang.
I don't think the original scrolls were translated to the Bible by native speakers with a knowledge of older Hebrew. I think the context was lost.
It's entirely possible "The Holy Son", meaning God's creation of Man became the Holy Spirit of Jesus. All it would take is slightly sloppy translation.
Abracadabra, we have God, the Holy Son, containing the Holy Spirit and Christian entities. Church entities backed up the original translators. Voila! 500 years later, they're all the same!
In real life, there were probably hundreds of scholars (lesser sons of aristocracy) deciphering all the scrolls. Which scrolls created the Bible? Which version? The King James Bible was written in 1611. Six hundred years later.
Our life and society is radically different from the Magna Charta in 1066. At least we know it was written in that year, we have the original and our current laws derive from that document.
If the Bible was believed and worked, why did men write a freedom law?
Our basic freedoms come from the Magna Charta, 912 years later. Funny the Biblic laws didn't last more than 400 years.

I'm Lutheran, so of course that's the perspective I have on the subject. God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three parts of the one God. In confirmation class (catechism) one comparison made was to a clover. Three leaves, but still one plant. Of course it's not a perfect comparison, but no one really understands perfectly how it works.
On the second Sunday after the Feast of Pentecost (The day we commemorate the coming of the Holy Spirit to the apostles) we celebrate the Sunday of The Holy Trinity. On that Sunday we read the Athanasian Creed. Part of it reads like this:"We worship one God in trinity and the Trinity in unity, neither confusing the persons nor dividing the divine being. For the Father is one person, the Son is another, and the Spirit is still another. But the deity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one, equal in glory, coeternal in majesty. What the Father is, the Son is, and so is the Holy Spirit.........Thus the Father is God, the Son is God; the Holy Spirit is God: And yet there are not three Gods but one God."
To read the whole creed try:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athanasian_Creed
(And, no, I didn't copy and paste.)
The Athanasian Creed is a beautiful expression of the Christian faith. It's a shame we only read it once a year.

God is Father--Jesus is Son-----Holy Spirit is Spirit sent to comfort and guide us after Jesus ascended to Heaven. They are all one. Kind of like an egg. There's the shell, the white, and the yolk. Yet they are all one. Yes it is confusing but, I can promise you that when you accept Jesus and go to a good Bible teaching church, things will become more clear. I'm not a Pastor nor have I been to Bible school. I just go to church. read my Bible and trust in God's word. Read the book of John. Not the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd books of John. Those come later on. 1st Timothy 1:15 1st John: 1:15-17 John11:25-26 Concerning homo-sexuality Romans 1:26-32. The best I think is John 3:16 Bless you

God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all part of the Trinity. Here are some bible verses to help you understand it.
"The Helper will come- the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God and who comes from the Father. I will send him to you from the Father, and he will speak about me." -John 16:15(GNT)
"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship fo the Holy Spirit be with you all." -2 Corinthians 13:14(NIV)
"-who have been chosen according to the forknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood. Grace and peace be yours in abundance." -1 Peter 1:2(NIV)
For there are three that testify in heaven: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. -1 John 5:7(NIV)
Its a lot easier to understand this whole concept if you think of God having 3 personalities, himself, his son, and the holy spirit. Either think of it this way or that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all aspects of God and represent different things. Like in the verse from 2 Corinthians, Jesus represents grace, God represents love, and the Holy Spirit represents fellowship. Having God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit allows God to be in different places at once, in a way. Like God was in Heaven when Jesus was on Earth, and the Holy Spirit was traveling in between them.

Oh the confusing Trinity situation. Okay let me see if I can clarify it. Have you even seen a clover, one with three leafs? Well each leaf is part of the clover. Over all the clover is one thing. In the case of the Trinity God is divided into three 'persons' The Father, The Son (Jesus), The Holy Spirit. I think of it as the three different ways God comes to us. As the Creator (Father), The Son (Jesus while He was on earth) and The Holy Spirit (the giver of each of our talents). I hope this helps.

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one, but not the same THING... it's confusing,
Anyways, good verses are
1 Peter 5:7
Romans 12:1-2
Phillipians 4:13
Jeremiah 24:7
Psalms 91:11
Those are only a few good ones, hope it helps, and what helps is if you have a reference thing in the back of your bible, you can look up certain scriptures according to what you are wanting to read about, or use the internet. :)

The Trinity can be hard to grasp. The simplest way it was explained to me was this.
The Trinity is like someone married with kids.
I have three roles I can operate within.
1) As myself (a woman\)
2) As a wife
3) As a mother
I am all three of those people wrapped into one person.
This is the same way the Trinity works.
1) God operating as God
2) God operating as Jesus
3) God operating as The Holy Spirit
This explanation is really simple, but resolving the 'mystery' allowed me to move forward and become closer to God.
I hope this helps.
ref: This was explained by an anointed and Wise Reverend. His name is Dr. Creflo Dollar and he runs World Changers Ministries. The link that I referenced is an explanation of the Holy Spirit's role in our lives with plenty of Bible verses for you to study.

The article is named, "The Twofold Work of the Holy Spirit"
There are a number of other articles that will help you with your walk with God.
I pray that you are successful in your Journey.

Jesus constantly tells us in His Gospel that He and the Father are one and that when He left the world The Father would send a Comforter. That Comforter is the Holy Spirit, identified many times, and also identified in the OT as a part of God also. Therefore, go and read the Gospels and see how many times Jesus tells us that "I and my Father are one." You should have no trouble finding them, especially in the NIV.

God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are three beings who work together as one Godhead. One Bible passage that shows how they interact was the baptism of Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 3.
More information about these Beings is found on the site below.
