I doubt it. Celibacy is not a natural state for a creature that's born to spread its genetic material through procreation. I'm sure lots of them make a real good try of denying their humanity, and I pity them for it.

I believe that the vast majority of religious do practice the celibacy they vow to practice.

You must be a legal adult now to enter a monastery or convent. This means that you are expected to know your own mind well enough to know whether you seek to enter monastic life out of a sincere dedication to God or whether you seek to enter in hopes of escaping from something you fear.

In the early Middle Ages--around the 7th century--there were monasteries and convents which would be located right next to each other, and where the monks and nuns would have children with each other. At the time, this was accepted. However, sometime during the 7th century, I think, the rules were changed so that members of monastic orders had to become celibate, and the rules have remained in place to this day.

According to the Catholic church yes. They take the vow of celibacy and consider themselves married to God. They devote 100% of their lives to God.
We have all heard about the Priests and Monks and Nuns who have either had sexual affairs (for which they would be kicked out of the church), and the horror stories of the children who have been abused in the churches and schools. We all must remember that we are human and that God gave his only son Jesus so that our sins would be forgiven. I don't agree with any of the bad things going on in the church but hope that they do ask God's forgiveness. God is good and forgives all. But you also must remember that what you reap you sow.
Yes, all Monks and Nuns take the vow of celibacy very seriously.

Actually, if they aren't married, they ARE practicing celibacy. To be celibate is to be unmarried. I think you mean are they practicing chastity, which means to practice or abstain from sex depending upon your state in life (married or unmarried). I think that most monks and nuns do remain chaste (no sex) but some fall and those that get caught really have it played up in the press.

Poverty. They owned hardly ever any very own possessions. Obedience. in the event that they were arranged to drop that one, the sadist i discussed above could desire to have been handled, because of the fact it became obtrusive that the quite a few different clergymen did no longer approve of his behaviour.

No. I think it would be too difficult to do as that "in & out urge" is sometimes just too powerful to ignore. It seems to be going against the will of God since he created that urge within us for a reason, it stands to reason.
