My first color I ever tried was baby blue. I love that color!
You won't look like a idiot. It's a popular color.

Get my braces off Nov. 6! : )

White is not a good color!! The color will get stained and look brown and yucky, other than that, any colors you like!! Your teeth might be sore for a few days getting used to things, then everything will come in stages, some things might be more uncomfortable than others but none of it is really that bad. Not exactly sure what a jaw expander is, but from what I can imagine, you just might be a little sore getting used to that as well, just have to be careful of what you eat, some days you can only eat soups and such.. but things will get better and once they're off and you have a great result, it's all worth it!

baby blue is a very cute color! dont get black brown or green it looks like u got something in your teeth...sorry to say but the pain is bad for the first couple of days after you get them tightened but its nothing a little tylenol or motrin wont fix...also the expander has no pain involved at all! it feels a little bit tight but i felt no discomfort when i had mine! YOU WILL NOT REGRET HAVING BRACES!! Its worth the little bit of pain for the lifetime of beauty :) GOOD LUCK!!

You should get the colors you like. I know some people pick the colors of their school for their braces but my daughter never did that when she wore braces. She always picked green and black, which are two of her favorite colors.

ooh i have braces now and i have teal, they are a kind of blue...
and yes they hurt a lot at first! but don't worry, the pain will eventually wear off :D
don't be scared to get them, they are actually really nice, so remember braces are temporary, and when you get them off you will have beautiful teeth!
and if you need help deciding, go to this website:

oh i've never had to get a jaw expander but i'm pretty sure it will hurt...http://www.harmonorthodontics.com/palatal1.htm

Well, I get mine tomorrow. Woot. I'd go with something that's not too noticeable at first, but that's just me. I'm going with dark blue on top, green on bottom.

Baby blue would be good, if you want to make your braces blend better you can get silver. But as Crystal said, don't get white, they can stain badly. Same goes for clear.

Try season related colors (Halloween, xmas etc). Your orthodontist will change them every month anyway.
PS Avoid green, looks like broccoli stuck between your teeth.

Not light colors and usually black isn't flattering. Other than that, pick what you like.
