Why is everyone crying about the chase format? How many times has a team in other sports had the best record and still loses in the playoffs? You can think of this too, if Nascar was run by the NFL Gordon and Johnson would have been suspended themselves for using performance enhancing materials (ie illegal cars).

OK, maybe that was a bad analogy, but my point is what is 100 point deduction anyways? It isn't even 1 race. If any other player in any other sport gets caught cheating they are usually benched for at least 1 game.

Personally I am sick and tired of hearing about the Chase. Do not update me on football stats during the race. If I wanted to watch football, I would WATCH IT MYSELF.

I also do not need chase updates. The race is not over, do not keep the camera on Jeff and Jimmie, telling me their every move. And that stupid line, below the scroll, that takes the place of the intervals is not needed. While the race is going on, I dont need to watch every minute of it... They however CAN give slight worded updates.

I am sick and tired of everything being about Hendrick. They are not the only one's racing. Oh, but while there is a battle for the lead, let's check on Jeff and see how he's doing.

*rolls eyes*

I dont mind the chase, i just dont want it taking over half of the damn race.

When there was no chase race, the last 3or4 races were
hard to sell, with a driver 500 points in the lead, didn't
D.E. Sr win a couple championships and all he had to do was show.up the last 2.races, if there was none this year
Gordon would be 300 points ahead of Clint B. in second..
Everyone in Nascar Cheats, some get caught - some don`t

I, for one, am not. I Iike it o.k., but I think there should be more weight given to wins and top 5s.
I think Kenseth's 2003 title was a travesty with one win. I mean I like the guy o.k., but come on!
I think most people who really hate are old schoolers longing for the good old days.
No major sport is the same as it was even 10 years ago. Change is inevitable, and you have to accept you won't like all changes.

just just mad that Hendrick Motorsports won five in a row with Gordon and Johnson. here a good question, what would happen if the points standings were tied at the end of the last race of the season.

...That is the whole thing about Nascar. It is a unique sport different from foosball, bassetball, succer, and baseball.

...Nascar became popular without the chase. It is also losing popularity because of the chase. Look at the TV ratings as proof.

...An article on Nascar.com stated that Brian France may be stepping aside to let someone else run it just for that reason.

"added" - And you are right. They should sit them out for cheating and strip them of wins. Problems is the "sanctioning buddy" in charge can't seem to do it.

I don't mind it. As long as those guys are out there on the track I'm happy!
Although your analogy may have not been the best, I get what you're saying. :)
