Clint is right....statistically speaking, Jimmie is ahead of Gordon in his stats. However, Gordon has been racing longer that Jimmie and has more total wins and championships than Jimmie does. In that same tone, it will stand to reason that Jeff will more than likely retire before Jimmie does. I guess we need to compare them later when all is said and done taking into consideration that Gordon won his championships in the old Winston Cup format, whereas Jimmie has done most of his racing in the Chase format.

Well , for the last three or four years the 48 bunch has been the team to beat so my vote goes to Johnson. If Gordon taught everything he knows to Johnson, it looks like the student has become the master.

Jimmie's the hottest driver...right now.
He's still nowhere near Gordon. Johnson still needs to conquer a road course and needs three Cups to catch Gordon.
He could be greater one day, but he's not there yet.

Jeff Gordon and not just because of the stats or wins...Because he has raced go carts-1/4 midgets-midgets-sprints-Craftsman truck--Busch and Cup Cars plus Late Models--Jimmie Johnson has not!!!!!
