I've always been a procrastinator, but I've always gotten things done. Now, I'm a junior in college and I'm handing in papers late for the first time and wasting time for no reason. I have no idea what is going with me. I've always been a grade freak, but now it doesn't concern me... I have the time, but I just spend hours in front of TV and I haven't exercised in a while and I'm eating junk, when just not so long ago I was very health-conscious about my diet. It disgusts me that I'm acting the way I am, but I just can't gather the will power to change it...

I deal with this also- and it isnt because you are lazy, so dont listen to people on here that don't know ****. I suggest you start by getting out and walking- exercize like this helps mood and you will be amazed by how much better you feel. also- it might help to fight for a cause of some sort that you feel strongly about. i go for animal rights! just to feel that you are making a difference in the world. the worst thing you can do is let this go on another day without trying to beat it. it only gets sorse if you leave it alone. good luck!

i have the same problem but not that much. Im in university now and the first part of the year i was full on with the studies but now as i became more confortable i skipped a few classes and was not 100% in my studying. The the past few days i have been studying for exams which i have in 2 days time but here iam now on the internet, not motivated to study. Once i do push my self to study, a big surve of energy happens and then i could study for ages but its just that part of starting that is hard. I think its because theres that idea of more desirable things to do such as go out and relax. No one likes to study and etc..

This is clearly a picture of behavior in need of discipline. The motivation in this case should be fear of punishment, so a committment must be made to keep the rules you set or have the punishments you establish. After you get the behavior better trained, you can start shifting to reward incentives, giving points for completions, and rewards for certain numbers of points reached.

You need to kick yourself in the butt, and get going. No one can make you do anything. Its all mental. It's not that you can't gather the will power, It's that you won't.
