Hey, you can go on the website of the pharmaceutical company of the prescription you are on and get patient assistance usually you can get your scripts free except for some narcotics. I am in the same boat as you and am now getting two of my scripts free which did run me about 700 a month Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Pumky, I'm sorry about your medication situation. I have done much research on the medication issue, Medicare part D, imparticular. Unfortunately the answer is not a good one. If you can afford it, utilize Medicare Part D. While it doesn't pay very well, it does pay something. Do some research to see what medications are covered, and what generic meds are covered too, sometimes part D will cover more for generics. As the other answer people have suggested, look to your physician's office for help. They receive many medications from drug reps. If they don't have the medications your taking they can certainly phone the drug company. Most pharmaceutical companies will provide meds at no charge or minimal charge. Good luck to you.....

You might try a prescription plan. There are tons of them out that can help you cave money and Certain bulk food stores offer extra discounts. You may want to try Costco I have heard that they offer good prices and you don't have to be a member at a lot of them if you are only getting prescriptions. You should call ahead to make sure because some of them have told me that I still have to have a membership but most don't have that requirement. And you can call ahead to check the prices.

can you get any of your meds on the wal-mart 4$ plan? Also try pparx.org or the manufacturere's websites. Many pharmaceuticals have discount programs for low income chronically ill people.

See if your doctor will give you samples. You can check the various drug mfg websites for their programs to help lower income people to obtain their drugs. Your doctor will have to fill out the forms for you. It may also be cheaper to obtain some from out of the country like from Canada or Mexico.
