Hi! I'm looking to get a loan for only about 3000$ so I can compile all my bills into 1 monthly payment. The problem is that I have basically zero credit, I had one thing go to collections for like 50 dollars like 4 years ago but it has since been cleared. I work as a 911 Dispatcher and make about 3200 a month or so. Is there any chance that I will ever get a loan ? I have been applying for credit cards and what not for a few years now trying to establish my credit however noone will give me a chance. Hard to get good credit without an opportunity.

Rent and utilities are not reflected on your credit report unless you DONT pay them. Really fair huh? Ok first thing you need to is know your own reports. Go to annualcreditreport.com and you get all 3 credit reports for free, as required by law once per year. Look them over and make sure there isnt anything negative or incorrect reporting. If there is, you dispute online. Its easy. The easiest thing to finance is a car. Because it IS collateral. You dont pay, they take it. American General is a higher risk lender, but honestly unsecured credit will be hard to obtain if you have no credit history. Get those reports first and go from there. Contact me if you need help with anything. Take care!

The hardest thing to do when you don't have credit is to get credit. It takes a while. A long while. When I was 19 I went to the bank with cash in hand and asked for a share secured loan. That means that I put the cash up as collateral , and got a loan for that amount. A bank will probably give you a loan if you have that kind of collateral and you have been a long time customer. I made the minimun payments on it to prove that I was able to make long term payments on time. When establishing credit, you should make long term payments. While costly, it will help in the long run with your credit score. As your score increases then you can get lower interest rates and better offers.

The first credit card you own will most likely come from the bank that you bank with.

My suggestion is go to your bank. Tell them your situation and they will definitely set you up with the right card. At that time you can also discuss your wish to get a loan and they will advise you from there. Applying for credit cards online never works if you have little or no established history.

Hope this helps!

This isn't going to happen unless you have collateral. You may can get someone with good credit to sign for/with you. The bank isn't just going to hand you $3000 with no credit and no collateral.
