If so, did they have a National Guard promo before the movie in the theater you went to?

Just wondering if it's showing before the movie in every theater or just in the one I went to.

If you did see it before the movie, did you find it a bit desolate & disturbing to show before a children's movie? I'm not usually one to complain about something like that & I totally support the National Guard, but the images seemed like they were a little too bleak to show to some children, especially before a happy little animated movie.

Video here, if you want to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJRthpxDM10

For those of you saying it was fine, or that you think it would be fine to show before the g-rated Bee Movie: Did you go look at the video (either at the theater or on youtube)?

The scene at 2:15 into the video is especially disturbing to me. At first it looks like a dead child, but then later you realize it's just a child who was separated from her parents, in the bombed out rubble of a building, laying there shell-shocked, alone, not knowing if anyone's going to save her. There are fiery explosions, people being shot at, captions talking about 'fallen comrades'. Just very disturbing to show to pre-k, elementary & pre-teen children before a light-hearted animated film.

We have family serving in Iraq in the army (niece lost her husband over there, while she, too was serving in a nearby town). We have family in the Navy, too. My kids know about war & we are all proud of our military. But, it just didn't seem like a great choice to show before 'The Bee Movie'.

We walked in right after the promos. I don't think it would have been disturbing to see though.... it might affect adults more than kids because we are very aware of what is going on overseas and seeing anything military is just another reminder. Most kids don't even think about the war unless they know someone who is over there and even then military kids are extremely proud to see anything about the military.

I actually thought there were some disturbing scenes in the movie! Like the flying dream part.... I wont go into details about the parts that I felt almost crossed the line because not everyone has seen it yet. Overall... it had adult overtones that I was not happy with.

My daughter went to see it with her soccer team on friday. I wasn't there with her but, I don't think the promo is much of a problem. It is a little weird before a cute animation, but it could be a lot worse. The theater can show whatever they want as long as the preview itself is rated G (even if the movie is rated r).

Some of my friends took their kids, and weren't as impressed as they had hoped.
