I am moving into a house and the walls really need to be painted but I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on a color. We have a black bookshelf and a black desk that is going in the living room that has silver hardware. We also have a couple black leather chairs. Our couches were given to us and they do not match so I was wanting to get some slip covers...but something besides black...but I don't know what color to get them in or what color to paint the walls. I want it all to flow nicely. Any suggestions?

If you have any idea on what color slip covers would go with the color you suggest please let me know!

Paint a cool neutral, like "Silverpointe" by Sherwin Williams.

The black furnishings will look really stunning with that color as a backdrop. Then you can add pretty much any color that you like with draperies, throw pillows, artwork, or an area rug.

As for slipcovers, if you want something innocuous, then you can always go with an ivory, such as:

Otherwise, any other color will work with your current color scheme. Just search the slipcovers & choose your favorite.
