there are limits, especially today to control overpopulation. someone wants just 1 kid, another one wants a family with 5 children. so if you have children, why is it still a sin to use birth control? is it just another excuse?

an egg lives one day in female uterus, after that it dies and is absorbed by female body. if killing an egg is a sin, then why God created women in that way, that after one day an egg dies? or is He a sexist, He created them like that, so He can have an excuse to blame women?

pills can be dangerous for women, but a vasectomy is perfectly safe. vasectomy is a form of birth control. birth control arent just pills. God forgot about that or He just wants more excuses why birth control is a sin?

and this isnt true that no matter how many kids you have, you will always have money. they might be paying for social support, but its proven, the more kids you have, the more expenses you have, which means that there are limits of how many kids you can have.

and today social support only covers for childrens food. clothes you have to buy with your money you get from working, then they need health care which isnt cheap sometimes if they get hurt, then education costs, college is expensive, holidays can get expensive. and God thinks that with minimum wage parents can have 20 kids????

its just an excuse for religion to be against birth control.

If you're so confident that an egg only lives one day, then there is no possible reason to use birth control, because it's very easy to simply avoid sexual intercourse on the possible days of ovulation. Why would you use birth control every day to avoid something that only occurs in a very short window of time.

Killing an egg isn't a sin. Nor is letting sperm die without it fertilizing an egg. The sin comes in not recognizing the fact that God gave us the gift of being able to imitate Him (Creator) through procreation and rejecting that gift.

This does not mean that anybody has to have more kids than they can feed, clothe, shelter, educate and love. Nor does it mean that the world must be overpopulated. But you have to admit, there are a lot of people out there cutting themselves off at one child when they could easily care for three or four.

I agree that the Pill and other hormonal birth control can be very dangerous for women, to the point of death. Vasectomies, though, are NOT safe. Recently, they have been linked to dementia in men. Thanks for the suggestion, but I like my husband's brain just the way it is, and I don't think of him aas a dog that needs to be "fixed."

My belief from considering the scriptures is that life begins at conception. Sperm is not a life, and neither is an egg. Once these come together, then we're talking. Therefore, if birth control is a contraceptive, than it is acceptable scripturally. However, once that egg is fertilized, life has begun. Taking any life, even that of an unborn child, is murder.

Who said it was a sin? Jesus? Birth control and abortion are miles apart. Perhaps it is a greater sin to blindly follow the words of men who proclaim in the name of God.
Yes, it is the Church who said this. You know the answer in your heart. It comes from what harm you are doing. The Church is in part loosing its influence on humanity because of their views on sex.
"Wanton Whores" and a Loving Mate are also miles apart.
If you still feel guilty, pray for God's understanding. If there is a sin here, it is the danger of birth control to a woman.

The question becomes, did God hand over the reigns of creation to man, His idea, or is God still the only creator?
Birth control issues will be understood as this question is answered.

United Methodism is NOT against birth control and never has been. Your premise is seriously flawed in that way.

Besides this, there is still no conclusive information saying that a vasectomy is "perfectly safe."

I think some more research on your part may be warranted.

peace respect regards

I am a strong Christian and I do not believe that birth control is a sin. It is a completely different issue than abortion, which is the one most Christian have a problem with.

Further proof that the Bible and many of its ideas are dangerously outdated. We're far from needing to continuing to populate.
