Well, I think that any hunting is to be done in fair chase conditions and the prey should have a fighting chance at survival. That being said, I am not so sure this dolphin hunt was "fair" in the least, so I would say I am against mass slaughtering of any and all animals. It would be like herding a bunch of deer with helicopters and shooting them as they fled from the noise. Not very fair.

That being said as well, I also have an extremely hard time being against this because it is and has been a way of life for the Japanese for centuries. Who are we to change anyone's culture? We in the United States were all mad at the Islamic terrorists for trying to "punish" or impose their will on us on 9-11. But isn't the terrorist attack just a more extreme way of trying to force a way of life onto another different culture? I was and am completely against the acts of 9-11 as well as the acts of people trying to impede these people's way of life. We need to sit back and really take a look at who the people of the world are and realize that we might not be here to police every other culture's actions. While it is a disturbing and graphic scene, it is an ancient and historic part of their culture and maybe we need to respect that as well.

Just a thought.

I thought this was another 'Troll' ? that the Y!A police had let slip thru, like so many other 'bunny-hugger' posts, until I saw the videos on the net! ! ! !
This has to be one of the most barbaric & obscene acts I have ever witnessed in all of my 55 years on this ball of mud!
In ways, this is even more horrific than even cannibalism, because another human being at least has the physical & mental capability to fight back, whereas a dolphin DOESN'T, whether it is intelligently aware of the violence of this obscenity being perpetrated on them or not! ! !

What kind of dolphin is it? There is the bottle-nose, which is a mammal, and a dolphin that is a fish. The fish kind of dolphin is the Mahi Mahi fish dinner you might see on the menu of any seafood restaurant. Do an image search on "dolphin" and "dolphin fish" to see what I mean.

I don't agree with killing of the bottle-nose dolphin at all.

Uncivilized. I don't agree with hunting intelligent creatures. Dolphins have been shown to have immagination and a sense of humor, killing them is next best thing to murder.

i think personally that it is wrong but apparently not to them and we should not protest because in Asia the cow is sacred how would we like it if they protested us for slaughtering cows and if they won we would have to stop eating meat, just like in Thailand they eat cats and dogs but that is part of there culture.i know it is wrong but so is killing cows, pigs and chicken.in japan the dolphin is like steak.i haven't tried dolphin and i don't want to but it is a part of life its better then them just killing them for the heck of it or just for the skin at least they use it for meat, and for the helm and tail to sell in the stores so yes i do think it is wrong but its there culture and remember when you think of the dolphin hunt think of the cows remember do you think we should be protested

Gosh its terrible! I saw that vid of Hayden Panettiere and I was totally shocked, all that blood in the water. Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before it's stopped. In this day and age these kinds of things can't go on forever.
