It's not like I'm a complete introvert or even have social anxiety - although, in a way I suppose, I do. But I just don't like dealing with people - I hate having to put up the fake smile and pretend to be interested in what people say. I also, for some reason, hate the boss directly giving me projects (face-to-face).

Of course I'll mostly get B.S. answers here (spam, "you should get out" advice, or "no such thing"), but I'm hoping I'll get at least one newsworthy response.

I'm OK with having to deal with some people - just not in a way where I'm forced to smile or talk to many. Some have suggested librarian (because I love reading/books), others have suggested professor (even though I'd have to lecture, much of the time deals with research & many professors I have seemed to hate people anyway).

I'm guessing unless I become a webdesigner or ebayer I probably won't get paid from home. So what jobs have the least amount of contact with people as possible?

Lab techs. You'd likely work in a hospital with coworkers, but not dealing with the general public.

Transcriptionist, Biller/Coder. You'd have to speak to the Physician or office manager every once in awhile, but you would work from home.

ye i love animals and im goin to uni next year to do animal science. i also wana go to TAFE and do vet nursing. But in animal science you also do some vet nursing. You can work for animal shelters like the RSPCA - i did my work experience there and there are lots of different jobs you can do ther -you could be a dog trainer/behaviourist, animal cruelty officer (what i want to do), animal attendant (where you you look after the food/shelter/well being of the shelter dogs during the day), and lots more. Talk to your school careers councillor cos they will know heaps of stuff about careers with animals. Hope i helped a bit!

bridgetender for a drawbridge. you have to stay alert, but requests for your service are always heard over the radio or via horn, almost never in person.

Pathology. They are doctors who do autopsies and all of the patients are dead. Not much human interaction is needed!
