My husband and I are going to Hawaii 15 day cruise on Diamond Princess we are wondering about the service and how the trips are.

The service is awesome. I have never had problems on a Prrincess cruise.
We did the one that starts in SanFranciso. The ride to Hawaii was a bit chilly, bu the closerwe got the nicer it got. The ride back was bad....cold and rainy. The last stop was Ensanada...we did not even get off the ship.
The trips were nice. We did the following ones:
Bike ride around volcano park (I am a 45 year older fat lady and I was able to do it!!)
Visited local attractions on Kona
Did a tube in the water ditches on one of the islands. It was a nice way to see the back country.
We chose not to do the Pearl Harbor thing...too crowded.
People were dissapointed with the Luau trip, we did not do that.
We went to the polynesian culture center, that was nice. They have college kids from various islands come to the center to perform. The kids are then given scholarships at the Bringham Young university.
I wanted to stop at Wikiki beach and people watch....my husband was being an idiot and refused.
We also did a snorkle trip...can't remeber where we did that though.
I am embarrassed to say we also took a bus to the local Walmart :)
