I find it best to coordinate with the speaker. In one case a rousing song about the restoration such as The Spirit of God or Praise to the Man is appropriate. In other cases with missionaries and investigators you might use How Great Thou Art as something they may recognize and be comfortable with. Or Joseph Smith's First Prayer to explain the first vision.
If I had to chose one all purpose, LDS, thought provoking song it would be Oh My Father.

I liked it. The beginning kind of reminded me of "Closer" by NIN. I didn't like it at first, but by around 2:30 I was enjoying it. I don't necessarily know if I'd call it spiritually uplifting; the music seems to be kind of depressing. (Depressing isn't the right word; it just doesn't seem to be uplifting.) I also don't have any advice for improving it... I'm not good with music. On the whole though, I would say it's good. (Also, I'm an R&S regular under a different name. You know me.)

You have to sing a strictly LDS song? isn't that kinda strange? You can't just sing a praise song to the Lord? Like, White as Snow? Or As the Deer?
