Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
You are SMART for wanting to keep things small and less costly!
It's really hard for us to give you an estimate. It all depends on LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. If you live in a city....you are probably going to pay more. I live in a very rural area, so things here are cheaper.
That said, you don't have to PAY for the church. The priest DOES have a fee (usually between $50-$100). If you are having an organist, their fee will be on top of that (also usually $100). Now....a Roman Catholic priest will ONLY marry you in a church....not outside, if that is what you were thinking.
You most certainly CAN have a ceremony outside, or at someone's home, or in a park, etc., but it would have to be performed by someone other than a priest. Most Lutheran pastors (as well as other denominations) ARE willing to marry you outside. You can also get a judge, justice of the peace, or wedding officiant. Simply call your county clerk's office to inquire about wedding officiants in your area. Some bridal stores may even know of some....or search the net! Again, for your budget figure $100 for someone's service. It may be a little higher (or lower), again, depending on where you live.
Dress: Look around for an inexpensive gown. Another girl today posted this one that she is having. Very inexpensive and elegant! And, you can wear it again!

Venue: Again, look around. You can get married anywhere! If you want it at a church, fine. Most churches also have a fellowship hall that you can use for a small reception after. And, if you are a member of that church, there is usually no charge!
If you don't want to have it at a church, check out local parks, pavillions, etc. Again, it depends on where you live, but the cost to rent a pavillion at a local park is not usually much.
Then there will be the cost of the marriage license. Only about $30, I believe. Go on your COUNTY's website. Marriage Licenses are issued by the county you live in...not necessarily the city you live in.
All in all, I think you should be able to have something for around $500, including your dress! It just depends on WHAT kind of party you want to host afterwards. It can be something as simple as cake and punch after...OR a big dinner...it's whatever YOU want!
Good luck and I hope you have a beautiful wedding!

We had our wedding on a budget - catered for 100 people and I had chosen a pale blue gown (simple design) was really a bridesmaids dress for my own - This was a second wedding... Dress was $150.00 Food catered with waiter staff and supplies - $2500 - Condo clubhouse with pool and outdoor bar - $200 - (Helps is you know someone that lives in a condo) - Flowers from Stop-n-Shop Flower Bouteque... Check them out online - I had a LOT of roses and centerpieces and coursages/boutinierres $250.00. Table centerpieces wre made by me - I bought cheap fish bowls... $1 a bowl - put chip stones in the bottom and live gold fish - $20 for 150 babygold fish... Plus people got to take then home - Our cake we spent $300.00 on because it was custom made in the shape of niagara falls - this is where we got engaged. We didn't hand out wedding favors - I am not a fan of this because most prople don't really want them - Little frames and whatnots - just cheapen the thought... We would rather put the money into something more like DJ/Bar/Photos... Good luck...

Well, that depends on so many factors you don't have listed. How many people, what part of the country, what type of location....
For an officiant to come to a location you choose figure about $400.
For a event hall type location, food, decorations everything I would estimate about $50 per person in a rural location, $100 if you are in a big city for an average wedding site.

i became engaged whilst i became 24 and married whilst i became 26 Our wedding ceremony colours have been a diminished peach and chocolate brown We each and each had our brothers as witnesses (2 entire), it became an exceedingly small wedding ceremony (14 human beings have been there which comprise us and our reverend) Our reception became held a month after our wedding ceremony, and we did no longer have assigned seating, maximum persons did no longer take a seat, it became a dinner social gathering We had a small chocolate cake and then a sort of cakes for persons to %, i think of there have been 5 distinctive alternatives We went to Maui for 2 weeks We have been given married in Gleneden coastline, OR, a tiny city on the coast, only outdoors of Lincoln city

Depends on your location...the pastors in my area (San Diego, CA) go for $300+. Places can vary. Are you part of a church? That would be the cheapest route. Otherwise, stick to a public beach or park. Any hotel or place of business that accommodates weddings often will be pricey because they know people will pay it (to an extent). Take into account the time of day. Will you serve a meal or snacks? Soda and water or alcohol? Tons to take into account so I would start your search early and good luck!

Most priests, pastors, etc take donations and don't technically charge anything. And you could always find a friend's house with a gorgeous yard to have it in if you are strapped for cash. We had my friend's wedding at a little church in the state park... $100 for 4 hours, or if you are members of a church they normally don't charge. And for the reception, def go with a friends, or go home... Hotels ect. charge major amounts most of the time, and instead of catering, have a bbq or something with people bringing a dish, especially since it's just friends and family, make it comfortable, not formal... and you can search online for gorgeous dresses... I got mine for under $200... and it's beautiful

If you don't want to spend a lot of money have it outside and make your own food. The biggest expenses are reception and site, and of course could spend ridiculous amounts on a dress and alterations as well. I would say less than $1000, do you want a photographer tho? You might just want to get a few friends to take pictures because photographers can get very very expensive! Good luck

We had a judge do ours and it cost $200 Most pastors are $100 to $200. You have to pay for your marriage license(every state different), Cake$100-$200 (unless you have some one make it), food( I would do finger foods), plates napkins, decorations( few ribbons and flowers) Invites ( do on your computer) your looking between $700 to $1000 ( If you get married in a park it can range $50 to 100) Have friends take pictures for you. Or go to Vegas Lol. Hope this helped. Congratulations!!!

Even a place like a hotel can cost between $10,000 and $15,000 just for the place, setting it up, food and service. You have to pay for a DJ, priest, and anything else you want. You could get married at a fire hall or in a park which would cut the cost of the place, but you'd have to get catering. Yes it's expensive. That's why my fiance and I are going to the courthouse, my grandma's making my dress and we're then going out to dinner with our closest friends and family at a nice restaurant (they have rooms you can reserve). It'll be closer to $1,000 to feed about 30 people, $100 for license to marry and to have the clerk marry us and that's it!

It is considered a donation what you give to the priest, so you can decide on a fair amount, usually around $50. Look for a David's Bridal, they have gowns for $99 specials, so there are many to choose from. Google it to see if one is near you. Contact a few restaurants and ask if they cater and how much, or Costco or Sam's club do trays that are pretty affordable. Congratulations and good luck
