My oldest son will be six this week, and I'm kind of torn over this question.
I've given or supervised his baths up to now, and while I feel like he's getting old enough to bathe himself, realistically, I have to face the fact that there is NO WAY he'd actually clean himself with soap. Every day we have that fight.
Since I don't trust him to do it on his own yet, I continue to supervise his baths, because when it comes down to it, if he goes to kindergarten smelling like Tarzan the jungle boy, I'M going to be the one in trouble.
So, I'd say the age is probably when they can and will clean themselves properly.

it depends on the individual child. Some kids like the company and attention of a parent to either just be there with them or to help out when needed. My older grandson always wanted me around to watch him play and help with his hair- until he was about 7. My younger grandson has done it all on his own since he was 4- hair washing and rinsing and all. SOmetimes girls need a little more help if they have long hair- I had 3 daughters and did their hair for a long time because they all had very long hair. My granddaughter has very long, curly hair and needs help with it. I've always let all the kids play as long as they want either before or after cleaning and shampooing.

I started having my older two sons start to learn to shower at about 6 yrs old. Before, they were bath children. Best of luck!

whilst i became rather little, my mom used tubs. How some rather massive cool chest (with the lid bumped off!) maximum of them have drain plugs. or according to threat you could desire to communicate to the landlord (or a contractor once you are the landlord) to verify approximately setting up a extra non-handicapped friendly bathe/tub stall. because of the fact the youngsters grow previous, your alternatives for undemanding to pass and drain "tubs" will decrease particularly speedy, and till they get approximately 4 and a nil.5 ft tall, the bathe spray would be directed appropriate at their faces, and that they are going to proceed to dislike showering.
