I mean really, if you were going to die wouldn't you do anything to NOT!??!!??

I would have been like gnawing at my shoulder just to get partially released.

Had you attmpted that in AD 33, the Roman soldiers would simply have found some other way to execute you.

Barring that, you would have died from untreated gangrene if you didn't die from the normal asphyxiation, first.

We won't even deal with the issue of gnawing through your own humerus.

Actually, he could have come down off the cross without gnawing. He could have avoided the crucifixion all together. The people taunting him while he hung there were inspired by Satan to try to get him to come down off the cross, and he could have easily done that. He could have summoned a legion of angels. He chose not to do any of those things. The point was that he was giving his life as a ransom for all.

Because he knew from the beginning he was born to die for us sinners. He could have escaped death if he had wanted to. He could have called upon his angels at any time, and things would have gone very differently. Don't you see, that was the sacrafice he made for you and me. He was the only lamb pure and free of sin that could atone for all our sins. This is the only way that you and I are able to have a relationship with God, since he cannot abide in a house where there is sin or is dirty.

He did not have rodent teeth like you.

Just let the memory of Jesus and what he did remain with the Christian heirarchy. He was God made man and left us with a profound message. Your attempt to make him into a rat is sad. You have tragically missed the whole thing.

wouldn't that make it worse?

so you gnaw off your left arm, so you fall off, but not your right arm is still attached? and so are your feet.

because he knew that he would have to be sacrificed for the sins of man and if he did any thing it would show that god is weak the dieing was the best option and he knew he was going to come back.

he volunteered. he gave up his life. thats what makes it so profound. he knew in advance and even told one of the disciples to put down his sword when they came to get him. he could have called a legion of angels- and did not. he came to save the world not himself.

better yet, since he was God, why didn't he make the guy with the hammer miss the nail every time by a couple inches?

You don't understand...they didn't take his life, he gave it...for you and me...he didn't want to come down,,if he wanted to do that, he could have called ten thousand angels....to his rescue....
