For my British Literature class, we had to interview teachers for a story we were to create(500 words+)
The story the teacher I interviewed gave me is very hard to make into an interesting 500 word story:
basically, she told me that she was in a math class, and her teacher was asking students wchich famous person they were assigned to research. when her teacher asked "who has Descartes", she didn't say anything because she didn't know how it was pronounced, and when she finally said "oh, i do", the teacher just gave her a look.
PLEASE HELP ME MAKE THIS INTERESTING. MY BRIT. LIT. TEACHER SAID WE ARE ALLOWED TO EMBELLISH IT!

I always seem to have writer's block..and my friend told me to stop workin' on your essay or paper, relax or do somethin' for a bit, and get back to work on it later! It worked for me.. just don't think 'bout it too hard, and i'll come to you... best of luckx3

Can't you interview a different teacher? That's a really lame story.
You could make it a little ridiculous and really focus on details. like
I was sitting in my Math class with the woman who intimidates me the most loomig over my desk. Her perfume permeated my nostrils, my eyes began to water and I felt the need to sneeze. Mrs. Snorgringle leaned in close, I could feel her warm breathe on my face, smell a hint of mustard on her breathe. She squinted and hissed "Anna, who was Descartes?" As she hissed the words my face was sprinkled with spittle. Sweat poured from my brow. Who the hell is Descartes I asked myself. I stared at her blankly, fumbling with "hmms" and "haws". Stalling, sure that any moment I would have a Eureka moment and know who the hell Descartes was.......stuff like that, i don't know, I'm no writer.
But that was fun!

well, it depends what kind of story you want... like if you want some sort of horror comedy make the room a torture chamber and have the teacher be an evil guy in a mask with a sythe...if you answer wrong...you die....lol. but give it a twist!! like the mask falls off of the teacher and they're just a geek! or maybe she answers right and she gets a lollipop!!..,i like lollipops....or maybe you could just ignore this answer alltogether!! im wierd and like to twist things around =P

Make the girl shy and show her inward struggle whether or not she should jump up and be the only kid to identify Descartes.
