Try Freecycle or Craig's List...sometimes people are getting rid of very nice ones free or very inexpensively! Ours was used, but they really do seem to last forever!
If not, then I would say Home Depot or Lowe's, KMart, Walmart or any of the other places that have likely already brought in literally tons of them from China...

They sell them everywhere now....Target, Wal-Mart, Michaels, Sears, etc. Most are pre-lit but I'm sure you can still find ones that are not.

try a second hand store like the salvation army or something like that. in Canada we have valu village. the proceeds go to charity. so you will help yourself out by saving money and helping out a charity

Some years ago, I found a nice cheap one in Big Lots. I don't know if they have any now, but it wouldn't hurt to look.
