ok so we are redoing parts of our bathroom due to water damage. here is what it does/will look like. the walls will be a light tan, floor tiles white with light tan specs, the tiles going halfway up the walls around the bathroom will be painted white., sink is white, counter top is white with light brown specs, toilet is white, medicine cabinet white, the only problem is as of now the bathtub is a light brown it is a cast iron tub in perfect condition. i want to leave it the way it is, my husband wants to replace it with a white tub. do you think a light brown tub would look good with white walls???

Browns are considered a neutral and with your flecks of tan and brown throughout the bathroom, it seems a natural fit. Pull in towels of a similar color and accessorize accordingly. Of course, if after all is done and you still think white would be better, it's an easy thing to replace.

light brown will give a nice contrast to the white. You should make a decision before finishing because if you change the tub you will be involved in quite a lot of work because the tub flange is behind the drywall or tile surrounding the tub.

Yes, a light brown tub would look fine with white walls.

why not just do the bathroom and see how it looks. If it goes well, leave it. If not - replace.

No one can really tell you how it will look without seeing it which, of course, we can't.

Try it then decide.
