I was an Evanghelical Christian who converted to a Mormon Christian ten years ago. Having been a Christian most of my life I know the Bible very well and the Book of Mormon less well. For this reason I tend to feel more confident when studying the Bible, although with the Sunday School course of study this year being the Old Testament it has been interesting coming across bits that are evidently mistranslations - like getting the name of one of David's wives wrong, for example. These things don't seem to happen with the Book of Mormon simply because it has been through far fewer scribes and translators. I don't think one is better than the other. I love the Bible and read it every day, but I also love the Book of Mormon because it is still so fresh and new to me, and because it supports the Bible.
