f. b/c contact lenses have the following effects:

1) hold microbes onto the eye b/c of lack of tear exchange
2) create a low oxygen environment
3) hold microbes in the matrix of the lens (soft)

contacts DO NOT "decrease tear production" nor do they have much to do with the lacrimal gland or "shuttling" tears anywhere or pupil size or number of blinks. is this a real question on some test somewhere? if it is, its one w/o a correct answer (among the 5 listed choices)

I wear contact lenses and I don't get eye infections. That's because I'm careful to keep them clean and I don't wear them for extended periods of time.
