idno what to say I feel so bad, his brother lived in louisianna, we live in new jersey. I did the usual I'm so sorry is there anything I can do, and all that. but I feel bad, should I change the subject? or talk it out? hes really quiet and I want him to be okay. tomorrow I'm going to see him so should I just hug him&&tell him its going to be okay.

Be there for him if he wants to talk it out, but don't try to drag it out of him. You cannot "fix' it. Hug him if you want, but unless you are trying to provoke him, don't tell him it's going to be okay. It will be, but he doesn't want to hear that right now.
Grieving is a complex process, and it may take him a while to be his old self again.

talk to him about it. let him know that your there for him. the worst you can do is to change the subject because he will think that you dont care. let him cry on your shoulder and talk it out yet at the same time make him feel better and try to make him laugh every once in a while. just treat him how you would like to be treated if someone died in your family. god you and his family.

OMG! I am SO sorry to hear that.
The best thing you can do is just be there for him right now. Be there by his side. If he asks to be alone, then respect his wishes and let him be at peace with himself. But just be available to him. He will no doubt need you.

I wouldn't try to force him talking about it. I just lost my dad and it was better for my gf to just be there and for her to tell me that she loved me. I guess I just need the reassurance that the world would go on and that people still love and care for me. But I guess everyone is different.. Just hug him and ask if he wants to talk.
