You may recieve the Eucharist if you are not in a state of mortal sin, if you have commited veniel sins you can still recieve,it is alway`s better though to go to confession on a regular basis so that you need never worry about this.

Confession, especially to oneself of one's guilt feelings is a truly rewarding experience because it cleanses the mind of tension and stress. At end of confession one is able to live with one's own mind and this aspect leads to genuine creativity in terms of seeing others as one would zsee oneself. I am not a religious person-as such I am a deep-rooted rationalist , looking at things of life with the aid of rationality and nothing else. Even so, there are moments in life when one across matters of morality and ultimate truth. Such moments are hard to be corrected or palliated by external intervention. To sit with the privacy of one,s own thoughts and to arrive at an explanation of one's actions and their results and to feel that one has lived in accordance with the highest principles of integrity and honesty, is the best spiritual dividend one obtains from a total self-cleansing. That is what in my opinion ,an elevated chastisement of one's wrong actions past is all about. Not seeking to justify hurt and unhappiness and agony caused by one's behaviour towards oneself and others is thefinal arbiter of self-understanding. One does not have to go to so-called men of religious profession to achieve this noble objective. Our minds, when they are able to, reflect on our thoughts and actions, can lead us to a very exhilarating and purifying state. Many thanks for this question.
