Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

There's nothing much I can add. My brethren in faith did a fine job.
A lot of times, when someone says they're not interested we'll ask a couple reasons to find out why... a lot of times a person will say they're not interested because of something they heard and we like to clear up any misunderstandings when we can.
And one misunderstanding is that we're out to convert people.
The main purpose of us going door to door is to tell the good news about God's Kingdom, and the primary way we do that is by having Bible Studies with people. We hold studies with people of all sorts of different beliefs. It doesn't matter if they're going to a different church.
If a person is learning all the answers to questions they might have from the church they're attending great. Tell us you're spiritually satisfied and tell us you're not interested. But depending on where you live we'll stop by again in a few months or once a year- because people move and situations change. If you don't want to see us at all, ask us to place you on our Do Not Call List.
But if you don't mind occasional visits, they'll be more than happy to bring you magazines and to have Bible discussions with you. And if you're interested in more, ask them about the Bible Study program. It can take as little as 5 minutes once a week, but 30 minutes once a week is best :)
Thank you for your question.

As God’s people, we understand many things that we could not otherwise have known. We know the answers to questions that worldly-wise men have grappled with for millenniums. For example, we know why suffering exists, why people die, and why humans cannot achieve global peace and unity. We have also been blessed with a vision of what the future holds—the Kingdom of God, a paradise earth, and endless life in perfection. We have come to know Jehovah, the Supreme One. We have learned about his appealing personality along with what we must do to enjoy his blessing. Knowing the truth enables us to recognize what is not true. Applying the truth protects us from fruitless pursuits, enables us to get the best out of life, and gives us a marvelous hope for the future. 7 Do you understand Bible truth? If so, you have been richly blessed. When an author writes a book, he or she usually fashions it to appeal to a specific group of people. Some books are written for the highly educated, others for children, still others for those in specialized fields. While the Bible is easily available to all, it is meant to be understood and appreciated by a particular group of people. Jehovah crafted it for the humble, the meek ones of the earth. Such people can grasp the sense of the Bible, whatever their education, culture, station in life, or ethnic group. (1 Timothy 2:3, 4) On the other hand, an understanding of Bible truth is denied to those not rightly disposed, no matter how intelligent or educated they may be. The haughty, the proud, cannot grasp the precious truths of God’s Word. (Matthew 13:11-15; Luke 10:21; Acts 13:48) Only God could produce such a book. Jesus taught in homes and revisited homes where there was special interest. (Luke 10:38-42; John 12:1-3) He continues to do so till this day, not in person, but representatively by his footstep followers: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”—Rev. 3:20.

Well, I think everything has already been said. Sometimes I find it hard to do the 70 hrs a month I promised, but because I love Jehovah, and he has helped me so much over the past 20 years, I feel like the Apostle Paul said, at 1 Corinthians 9 v 16, "If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news!"

ha no were not obligated to do anything, which really fascinates me because we dont get paid and we all have different attitudes and jobs but when it comes to going door to door we dont argue about that nor feel it as a burden
we go door to door following what jesus told us to do in mathew24:14 & 28:19&20
just tell them your not interested they may ask a few questions but theyll leave you alone if you insist and if you just dont us knocking on your door at all, just tell the persons, we respect that
we keep track of the addresses and who doesnt want us knocking so we wont bother you
ok so we believe Jesus is the SON of Jehovah[God] not God himself
hope this helped :]

Jesus Christ commanded us at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20 to go and peach the good news. we are not changing anyones religion, that is between you and Jehovah God. Jesus is the son of the Most Holy Father Jehovah. we are christians and we are not a cult as many keep saying. many who turned there back on Jehovah will slander us. we are families just like you are. if you would like to learn about Jehovah Witnesses please see our website at www.watchtower.org. if you are not interest tell the witnesses not to come back and to put your name on the do not call list. we go to a kingdom hall and we are in 236 lands worldwide.

We go door to door in obedience to Jesus Christ command at Matthew 28:19,20. The door to door ministry has been found to be the most effective method of carrying out this command.
We believe what the Bible says about Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:15-17 (King James Version)
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven
To politely tell someone that you are not interested in their church say "Thank you very much for the invitation but I am not interested."

Jesus commanded his followers to preach the good news of the Kingdom like he did. he spoke with people wherever they were to be found. So did the apostles and early Christians.
Matthew 28:19,20- “Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things"
Acts 20:20- while I did not hold back from telling you any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house.
Matthew 10:7,11-13- As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ or a food pouch for the trip, or two undergarments, or sandals or a staff; for the worker deserves his food. “Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving, and stay there until you leave. When you are entering into the house, greet the household;and if the house is deserving, let the peace you wish it come upon it; but if it is not deserving, let the peace from you return upon you.
We do not only preach from door to door. We do street witnessing, letter or telephone witnessing and we talk about God's Kingdom with our friends and relatives in informal settings too.
A religion has to be very organized for such a global preaching work to be done. We are found in over 200 lands. We are united and we preach the same message wherever we live. Other religions have tried going door to door as well but they spent a lot of that time explaining that they were NOT Jehovah's Witnesses. In time, they give up.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, just as he said. His dying for us opened the way for us sinners to receive everlasting life, he is the way to God. No other saviour.
John 17:3, RS: “[Jesus prayed to his Father:] This is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God [“who alone art truly God,” NE], and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.” (Notice that Jesus referred not to himself but to his Father in heaven as “the only true God.”)
John 20:17, RS: “Jesus said to her [Mary Magdalene], ‘Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” (So to the resurrected Jesus, the Father was God, just as the Father was God to Mary Magdalene. Interestingly, not once in Scripture do we find the Father addressing the Son as “my God.”)
John 3:16- “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life'
When we come to your door and you are not interested, we will not force you. Just say so. It's your right to listen or not listen. Our duty is just to tell you, but not to force you to listen.

I look at the door-to-door thing as something that Jehovah's Witnesses try to shame people into doing. "It's a command of Christ. You DO love Christ, don't you?" Yes, they are obligated to do it. And of course they are the martyrs when you tell them you want nothing to do with their religion.
You can easily find out who they believe Jesus is by going to a website or two. Your choice to join a nondenominational church is commendable, but it also sounds as if you are fairly new to Christianity and you have no idea as to the differences between mainstream Christianity and Jehovah's Witnesses thinking.
The people that have come to your door are going to have to be told that you are not interested, and they will try to convince you that you're heading down the wrong path. You may as well know ahead of time that telling them to go their own way is not going to be an easy task.
