I want to have 2 pictures in one project but when i try it starts a new one,, how do i get both pictures into one project??

Create a new document large enough to contain the two pictures. Click on File > New. In New window click the drop down arrow on the right of Preset box and choose the size of your new document or type it in Width and Height boxes. Choose also the Resolution (if you are going to print choose 300, if not leave the default 72) and the Background (white or transparent).
Now open the first picture clicking on File > Open (let it overlap your new document), select it pressing CTRL+A or Select > All and then click on Edit > Copy.
Close the picture, go to Edit > Paste and the picture is on the document, move it on a side whit the Move tool (press V). Now open the second picture and select, copy, paste and move like before.
