Does it make you mad that all the holidays we hold so dear were moved about on the calendar so it would look like the pagans were celebrating Easter and Christmas.
Easter is a form of Eostre, a goddess of fertility.
Christ was not born in December.
Both Easter and Christmas fall near the equinoxes. Imagine that.
The holidays we celebrate as Christians are just as rooted in pagan culture as they are Christian.
Do pagans get mad when Christians give stuffed bunnies at Easter?

Christmas was first introduced in opposition to the pagan celebration the Saturnalian. Besides that in a nation that once claimed to be a christian nation what other holiday do you expect them to celebrate. Despite current protest the men that founded America were christians and they probably celebrated Christmas as it should be celebrated. Besides Easter Christmas is one of the days that has the highest attendance in church. I'll take any oppurtunity to have non-christians come and recieve the gospel. Even if it is only for a day.

No. If nothing else it keeps them happier, improves the economy, and maybe some of their children will see what the real Christmas is in the future.
I more wish that, those of us that are Christian would spend more of our money to help others than to help ourselves.

Jesus Christ changed the world by being a good person. If you leave out all religious references, who his daddy was and all that. He was still a good man, who did good things, and changed the world. Why shouldn't we celebrate him? We celebrate Columbus and he was no where near as nice a guy.

Why would they? Christmas isn't even Christs birthday. It was just overlaid on the Winter solstice by the Romans.

It makes me a bit sad to see so many people who do not get it, but I do not begrudge them a celebration. Jesus gave the greatest gift of all. The gifts we give are supposed to symbolize that.
