Can you get condoms as a minor? Because I want to well, you get it, with my girlfriend but I dont think they will sell any to minors. We cant tell our parents because they're all religious freaks that wont be happy about that. We've been together for a few years, so I really want to go through with this. thanks.

Yes you can buy condoms as a minor. While you are there, look for some spermicide too. Condoms aren't 100% effective. In fact 15% of couples have an unplanned pregnancy while using condoms. (That's 15 out of 100). You and your girlfriend need to look at all birth control options before going forward with your plans. The last thing you want is to have a baby at your age.

Barrier methods are generally unregulated.

The stuff that's prescription-only is like, birth control pills, shots, IUDS...stuff with hormones or stuff that needs to be implanted to work.

I'd recommend against having sex if your parents would be pissed, though. They have a way of finding out...especially if your gf gets PREGNANT or one of you gets/gives an STD.

I mean, I know it happens...but that doesn't make it a good idea. Those religious parents of yours happen to be responsible for you, and if they don't want you having sex, it's for a reason. You're not actually old enough to go against them, at least from a legal standpoint.

And much as you may want to have sex, if their religion prohibits it, it's not exactly child abuse if they freak out if you do it. It won't damage you irrevocably if you don't have sex until you're 18.

If you have to live with your parents, you should think A LOT about just how difficult life could be if you gave in to your desires before you're legally an adult. When you're 18, you can decide who to vote for, you can move out and get your own personal health insurance, you can get married without their permission.

And you can quit their religion and have sex if you want.

But I think you should think very seriously about the consequences of having sex before 18 because your parents just MIGHT have a point here.

Anyone can buy a condom.

If you are embarrassed, you can always go to a large store with self scan. Pick up a drink or two, a pack of condoms, and maybe a couple of other items. Then scan them all yourself, pay and walk out. You won't even have to look at a check out girl.

minors can buy condoms - there isn't a legal age limit like for tobacco products or alcohol

you can also get them for free at the health department - you don't need an appointment, just walk in and ask the clerk for condoms (guys or girls can get them) and they'll give you a bag full

There are no age limits on who can buy condoms. PLEASE PLEASE reconsider. There is a reason why people should wait until marriage. I know that is not likely for most folks, but at the very least wait until you can handle the consequences. Like BABIES! In a month's time my son graduated from high school, turned 18 and got his girlfriend pregnant. Instead of going away to college he has to remain in town going to the community college, working so that he can pay that child support. And come to find out she(the girlfriend) does NOT complete him. The condom broke. I ache for him and the situation he has gotten into and pray that no one else has to endure it. Please please reconsider.

In England there is no age limit on buying condoms. In fact this is so minors bent on having sex can at least do it safely and not risk teenage pregnancy.

Don't worry- they can sell to minors no problem. No one can refuse that to you. Good for you for using them too- If you are feeling nervous about it, just buy it with other stuff like a toothbrush and soap or something. Don't worry though, there is no age requirement.

Condoms cannot and will not be denied purchase anywhere. If you are shy or scared to buy the go to a local clinic.. like Planned parenthood.. they give you a whole paperbag full of them. there you can also get tested for an std and for advice. :) Its a wonderful place to go with questions.

Of course you can:)
Always practice safe sex! You could move here to Maine where the schools provide condoms and birth control pills to 11 year old girls without telling their parents:)
