God’s love is related to His salvation program. He loves His chosen people (the elect), who are scattered all over the world; and He demonstrates His love by saving them from eternal Hell:

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth [exhibits] his love toward us [believers], in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us [believers] from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he [God] hath made him [Jesus Christ] to be sin for us [believers], who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Revelation 5:9 “And they [believers] sung a new song, saying, Thou [Jesus Christ] art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;”

The popular “God loves you” slogan is part of a particularly deceptive false gospel that teaches that Christ died for the sins of every human being and now some action by man is required to “accept” God’s gift of salvation. That kind of false gospel promises that anyone can obtain “peace and safety” with God at any time they so desire. If true, that would put man in control of his eternal destiny. However, that view is contrary to what the Bible teaches – that is, man cannot save himself. God has indicated that there will be a proliferation of these kinds of false gospels prior to Christ’s return:

2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

1 Timothy 4:1-2 “Now the [Holy] Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils [demons]; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail [birth pains] upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

God considers those who become deceived by false gospels to be “spiritually drunk” and under God’s wrath:

Deuteronomy 29:19-20 “And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book [the Scriptures] shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.”

The Bible teaches that God loves people from every part of the world who believe in Jesus Christ:
John 3:16 “For God so [in this manner] loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son [Jesus Christ], that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 14:21 “He that hath my [Christ’s] commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
Proverbs 15:9 “The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he [God] loveth him that followeth after righteousness.”
However, the Bible also states clearly that God hates all of the unsaved of the world who will stand in judgment for their sins:

Psalms 5:4-5 “For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.”

Are you going to live forever? Do you have all the time in the world? We all prefer to think of ourselves as immortal. The truth seems a little upsetting. Yet the notion of eternal life actually robs us of our ability to enjoy the here and now. It gives us an excuse to delay. It means we need be in no hurry to learn crucial lessons. There's always tomorrow. But there's something you really need to attend to right away. And if you do, you'll get yourself a lot more time and freedom

What happened to the old favorite: "For God so loved the WORLD... that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him (Jesus Christ)..." (John 3:16)?

You only quoted Scriptures that highlight divine sovereignty; how about those that highlight human responsibility in salvation (e.g. John 1:29; 2 Corinthians 5:19; 1 John 2:2)?

There must be a happy balance between divine sovereignty and human responsibility. To swing to either extreme is dangerous theology.

You are right on, but you will have a hard time convincing about 90% of Christians.
Actually the concept mostly came out of a tract written in the 1960's when I was in College, called the 4 Spiritual Laws, put out by Campus Crusade for Christ. The first law they list is "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life." When that tract hit the university campuses everyone jumped at how simple it was, but most Christian colleges and seminaries condemned it. It became widespread and now pretty well all Christians accept it as the "Gospel Truth." Only problem, it is not Biblical truth.

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The idea that we are predestined does not remove the possibility that "anyone" who has faith in Jesus Christ will be saved. We are not omniscient, and cannot know the fate of any other person with absolute certainty. Therefore, we are not to quibble with the "probability" that a person may not be intended for salvation, we are to assume they are, and share the Gospel with any who will hear it.

May God bless us all, and have mercy on those who are not saved when they die. I pray "that" number decreases daily.

Take Care.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
John made a difference between HIMSELF witht he church he was writing to and the "rest of the world".
It does not say the rest of the elect it says world.
Paul said the LORD would take fiery vengeance on those who know NOT god and OBEY NOT the gospel.
We are not robots and if we have NOTHING to do with salvation then either everyone is automatically saved and we are just acting out the part, and no Christian is perfect for all sin at one time or another and John tells them what to do if they DO sin after being born again in 1 John 1:8-9.
We are told to believe, repent, be baptized in JESUS name for the remission of sins and we can be filled with GOD'S SPIRIT then we are to live a HOLY life.
It is a 2 party contract bewteen GOD and man.GOD calls us and we either obey HIM or reject HIM.
It says it is not GOD'S will for ANY to perish.
It also says "GOD takes no PLEASURE in the death of the wicked" so if we have NO choice then the sinner CANNOT be blamed for GOD making the sinner sin and making the sinner reject HIM.
For if this is the case GOD could save them and why would GOD hate that which HE created?
Because of the sin GOD forces the sinner to do since they have no will of their own?If HE is able to force one to be saved, why not all?
You calvanistic views make GOD a horrible heartless monster.

Psa 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Sir 12:7 For thou shalt receive twice as much evil for all the good thou shalt have done to him: for the Highest also hateth sinners, and will repay vengeance to the ungodly.

Absolutely.

God is not a respecter of persons.

Though it would seem fair of a God who is no respecter of persons to allow Celestial Beings to reveal themselves to all those who humble themselves properly with a broken heart and contrite spirit, doing so would negate the purpose of the veil and our mortal existence.

The veil allows us to live without a sure knowledge of God, so that we may become who and what we really are according to our individual desires of happiness, and not what we think God expects us to become. In other words, most people are good when the spotlight is on them, and when they are told everything they should do; but the truer nature of individual souls will shine when they are left to themselves with nobody else around who might influence them to be someone they really are not. Furthermore, if everyone had a sure knowledge of an afterlife of peace, tranquility, and happiness, and we realized that suicide was a choice, not a sin, how many of us would really hang around in the hell we have created for ourselves here?

This sure knowledge and instruction is only given to some (prophets) who are to perform specific missions.

In Revelation 5:9, The old song which we heard our servants singing presented us with the eternal plan of salvation and is as old as the Universe itself, which of course, is ageless and eternal. The “new song,” however, is the creation of a new solar system specifically for us; one we can call our own home in which we can partake of the plan of salvation. Christ is he whom we accepted as the one who would work for God (“by thy sweat and blood”) in this part of the Universe, and who would make sure the eternal plan of happiness was followed.
He oversees this work. If we follow his counsel and abide by the laws we are given (which all culminate into the one Royal Law—love others as you want them to love you), we will one day be given eternal life, and live upon one of the planets of this solar system according to our individual desires of happiness.

You can read the same for all religions...

god, allah, buddha etc supposedly all love 'their chosen ones', they don't care about anyone else.

A christian god would banish an islamic to hell for not believing in him. Shouldn't a christian god love the islamic regardless?

Sorry, but this is why I am an athiest....

No religion makes any sense whatsover.
