Me and my boyfriend have been dating one month and we were at the mall yeterday and he wanted to go to the jewelry store to look! We started looking at rings then the lady said something about promise rings and then we just started to talk about them and just look at them. But nothing was said about getting one. I know i really love him and he says he really loves me but we have only been dating one month! Does it sound like we are moving too fast?? Should i slow things down!

Yeah, if it's making you uncomfortable.

The factt that you are even asking stranger this question says a lot...what do you think? Promise rings are stupid. They mean very little and even less when you've only known the guy for a month...it's something a teenager would do....you don't see 28 year olds walking around with "promise rings" because it's something a kid would do that is in puppy love and that's exactly who those rings are marketed to. Look nothing says i'm serious about a person or I'm in a great loving relationship more then time does...and a consistant healthy relationship, without cheating, lieing, abuse, etc. that lasts is a true testamont to the seriousness of each others feelings. I've been with my fiancee for almost 4 years now, I don't have promise ring, I have an engagement ring, which means a hell of a lot more, so my advice is to wait, simply wait and enjoy what you have without buying any jewelry....if you're still together in 9 months then consider it again...you've got all the time in the world to wait and see how things pan out after you get over the "puppy love" stage of love...

Definitely slow things down. You're still in the "glow period" of a relationship where everything is magical and your significant other is "perfect." Wait until you can say that you love each other flaws and all. My fiance' and I were best friends before we started dating, so after a month of dating we knew we loved each other as it had been coming a long time. How long before starting to date did you know your boyfriend? My fiance' and I didn't look at promise rings until we'd been dating a year. My fiance' and I still have magic, and while he's perfect for me, I know after nearly two years that he isn't perfect. But you know what? I love him completely =)

It depends on how old you are I would think. My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years, and he moved in 2 months after we started dating! (Not a loser or anything like that...he pays bills, college degree and full time job.) So, maybe you've found your one true love! Plus, it's just a ring, not an engagement. Just promising to stay true to each other...I think it is sweet. And sorry, unless you've found that special someone, then you wouldn't know if you can love someone after one month...it is possible, even if it hasn't happened to some people.

I think you know in your heart it's too soon or you wouldn't even be asking. You should slow things down as you said. If it is love, it will only grow and it won't need a promise ring to prove it. The lady wanted to make a sale.:)

Hunny, if the boy already loves you that much, then let him get you one, just don't be rushing into other things, don't spend too much time with each other, or anything like that, and for awhile you need to hold off on having sex and stuff, so that the relationship feels new again after a few months when you all start to spend more time together and when you all do more things together. Good Luck!!!

If you have some sort of doubt, then yeah you're moving to quickly.
It's normal for a couple to want to kind of state their relationship and devotion to one another, but when you're just dating a month, there a different ways to do it.
My boyfriend and I have been dating two and a half years, and we just got like promise bracelets. It's just one of those pink bead bracelets. I bought two of the same kind and we just wear them.
It's subtle, but it's also because we can't afford promise rings, haha.
But yeah, back to your question if you don't feel comfortable with it, tell him. Because maybe you are moving a bit too fast.

One montha nd talking/looking at promise rings i would say yes that you are but my friend and his gf have been planing their life out together after dating for a month... I guess it just really depends on how long you knew the person before you started dating and how close you were before hand too.

You can't really know if you love someone after a month. Sorry. You can get anything you want but don't expect anything. When you've been together 6 months to a year and have seen the good and the ugly sides of each other and you still have something together, then we can talk.

Promise rings are just gifts, but even so, i think he would be moving too fast and you cant catch up. You could him that your not comfortable about that. And just to take things slow.

Don't rush yourself into anything! For some people it would be to fast, [like me.] I think that it is too soon for any promises on your part. Take some more time getting to no him, meet his family go to the beach. Do something different so you can meet some new sides of him.
