I want a good fast car for an everyday car that can be tuned and raced. Not any serious street racing like Fast and The Furious but same concept. I was thinking 2006 Pontiac GTO or any Nissan Skyline. I'm up for ideas.

either one (gto or skyline) is quite ok and tuneable. the skyline will be expensive as parts are imported. the gto uses the corvette/camaro engine and gearbox so bits are cheap and everybody has expertise on them. thyey also drift race them here in australia, see http://robbiebolger.com/
so my vote goes to the gto

Sorry to burst your bubble, but getting a Skyline is an expensive task, starting at $30,000 for an R32 GTR. This is because you have to have it imported and then modified for DOT compliance by a Registered Importer. The only importer that is certified to do the job is Motorex. Plus, the Skyline is one HEAVY car, weighing in at 3669lbs (R32 GTR). A heavier car means that you'll eat through tires and brakes quicker.

But on the positive side, there isn't any engine that's hearter than the RB26. Stock spec is roughly 300HP, but you can be feeding 600HP through it with no internal upgrades. Not many can boast that!

What I would suggest is that you get something already available in the US, such as an RX-7 turbo (the FC model is pretty affordable now), or maybe a S13 Silvia/180sx/240sx. But if you really want to be different, go for an AE86.

A Toyota Supra would work nicely too.
