Dear sister,
What rules should we follow, it is all in the books revealed to us by God. We are not in a position to find out perfect rules.
for example the rule of remarriage in the Quran states that women should wait for a waiting period of four months ten days before remarrying. This is so that if she is carrying a child in her womb from the previous husband it would be unjust to the next husband. If she is carrying (we come from the physical look after 4 months ) she is told to deliver the baby then breastfeed the baby for a period of about 2 years. Then if she pleases she can marry.
These are the rules laid by God. Humans cannot even think of such just rules. Like it is mentioned in the Quran . that God has perfected the religion of Islam.
READ THE QURAN ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME. ASSESS IT WHETHER IT IS FROM GOD. YOU HAVE JUST ONE LIFE TO ASSESS.

We DID evolve from apes. Apes is a classification of a special type of primate, not a specific reference to modern non-human apes.
