Okay so why does everyone say that Al Gore and the IPCC are wrong. How can they be wrong if there predicting what might happen in the future. So how can they be wrong? I mean An Inconvieninent Truth was Al Gore and the IPCC showing the world what might happen if we don't do anything.
Can someone please tell me why people don't get it?

Rofe- Okay prove to me that Al Gore and the IPCC are liers. Then come to me with a true arguement.
Dr.Jello- I'm not saying Global Warming isn't true, i'm saying that how can you find errors in a Documentary that is based on what they think might happen. Also more and more people are finding that Global Warming might be true.

All the laws are there, the science was missing. There wasn't a group that could prove beyond a reasonable doubt what the causes of global warming are and we need science.
The missing science is why Gore says we are at a critical point while Bush represents that reducing emissions will devastate economies. No jobs means grumpy taxpayers and less money for the big boys.
Lets keep the issues simple on environment, we are allowed to breathe air and live by interacting with it. There isn't an alternative.
Global warming or elevated temperature is one part of what is going on globally. We are treating the symptoms with ozone depletion and toxicity that is nuking our children. The domino effect of all of it can't be good if the toxicity ratio in newborns is 100%.
UV and solar radiation is having a much bigger impact than is known because it couldn't be seen. Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-heatgain.html to see the science that has been missing regarding buildings and urban sprawl. Surface temperature monitoring isn't reflecting the reality of urban heat.
Urban Heat Islands are in fact heat generators because we couldn't see the impact of the wavelengths. At the link above, you will see man made development generating heat close to boiling temperatures while we react to the symptoms with air conditioning. Air conditioning is in fact refrigeration associated with ozone depletion and California used it until they got knocked off the grid during heatwaves.
Try to imagine this whole process is designed in a calculator and then assumption of compliance. Once you go to the link and see building function, it changes the entire environmental picture.

Common sense is a good place to start.
Fill a glass of water up about 2/3 of water, add ice cubes to bring it to overflowing. Let the ice melt, what happens.... nothing, the floating ice srinks to its normal mass of water and matches the level in the glass without running over the sides of the glass. Where the ice "Was" floating above the full level of the glass before melting, the water level is the same, full to the edge of the glass, just no ice. There will be little flooding in the event that the Arctic ice melted the same way the glass with ice in it didn't overflow.
The Arctic ocean is ice floating above the water, as it melts, it replaces the space it took up as it froze and expanded which allowed it to float. The world's ocean levels are not going to change that much as Mr. Gore claims. That alone shows a distinct lack of truth in his story, and common sense should kick in for most people.
Most of the ice that is land based, such as Greenland and Antarctica, is miles thick and so heavy that it has forced the ground to push down into the earth's crust, as it melts off, the crust will push back up and replace the volume. I would be more concerned about earthquake activity than rising water levels.
The world is warming, just as it cooled and formed the Ice Age with no effect from man, then melted again as it is doing now, the end of the ice age is still ongoing and was started long before mankind could take the blame for it.
The local and national weather services can't get the next few days forecast right, why do you think they would be any better telling you what would happen in twenty years? Thirty years ago, they were screaming that an new Ice age was approaching.... it didn't happen.
If a person yells "FIRE!" long enough, there will be a fire someplace, just as it is part of the normal pace of life. That person will claim credit fortelling of the disaster, some will chant that he is the source of all that is wise, most will realize that is going to happen regardless and that he is a fool. The fire will go out, and nothing will change, except that the person will now yell fire more often in an attempt to reclaim the short lived fame from the first fire. The fires will again return, but not because of that person's ablity to foretell the future, it is because that is part of the cycle of life.

Because Al Gore and the IPCC are liars. If you do the math you will find that their predictions can not come true. I don't know for sure what the magnitude of their projected ocean rise is. I have heard anywhere from 3 to 20 fee. This would take 10 to 70 feet of ice on all the land surface on earth. With that kind of fallacy why should anyone beleive them.
You might also remeber that this is the guy who invented the internet.

Exactly - As you said "there predicting what might happen in the future."
Predictions are the realm of mysticism, not science. They have no idea if 5 years from now it will be warmer or not. They are just guessing.
If we don't do anything, nothing could happen just as well. No one knows. As you said, it's just a guess.
And guesses and mysticism are not science. Global warming is NOT a scientific argument.
Thanks for proving my point. I give you a star.
Added note: Any conclusion that is said to happen because of "global warming" is just a guess, or someones opinion.
From floods, to hurricanes, droughts, fires, warm, cold, anything and everything has been blamed on global warming. None of this can be proved. Like all things with "global warming" it's subjective on the persons beliefs. No one can tell you what's going to happen, and show you how they came to that conclusion.

I think that Al Gore is not telling the truth and all of the snow melting is just the natural way of life. Also, Global Warming has been happening for centuries, there's nothing we could do about it, and nothing will happen until our great grand children are dead.

Don'y worry about it. . If you are concerned about the environment, there are more important issues than a few naysayers.
Environmentalists are tying to pick the 'low growing fruit' those things that are easy to do and will have the most benefit, like getting people to use low energy lightbulbs. You might apply a similar strategy to your Answering; don't worry about the naysayers and concentrate on those looking for a sensible path.

I say it is Neo-cons who only care about oil resource extraction and its current effect on the stock market. Second are the religious who cannot get past separation of church and state let alone a willingness to grasp science. Third are the backwards hillbilly type (I know they serve a purpose, hunting and all) that were indoctrinated into anti-environmentalism and earth stewardship.
Mike...? Are you eight years old?
