What was God's "design" in making humans share 98% of genes with Chimps?

An omnipotent being would be very capable of making chimps with significantly different genes in order to avoid this confusion, so it would seem that 'god' did it to make people believe in evolution so that they would become atheist and burn in hell.

God's 'design' was to provide a physical template onto which He could graft an immortal Spirit. Why NOT use His 'evolution' toolkit? How many parts in a nuclear submarine share principles with the car in your driveway? Probably more than you assume.

Did you know we share 95% of the same genes with most life forms on earth?
Its like taking a lump of metal and splitting it into parts and putting each part through a different process.Someone may be able to trace all parts back to the SAME lump of metal but they are all different in one way or another through heat treat process, freszing etc.
All life came from the materials found in earth, the way the DNA is arranged and the genes is what sets us apart from everything else.
We are at the top of the food chain baby, and it was GOD'S plan.Maybe GOD thought "human like" creatures would be amusing to us?

Actually, that number has been revised lately, and it's a lot lower than previously thought. Also, common design means a common designer, not common ancestry. Did you know that the lug nuts from a Chevy will fit on a Pontiac? That's because they have a COMMON DESIGNER....not because they evolved from a Honda 50 million years ago.

If you would've followed religion more closely, you wouldn't have used logic or critical thinking, wouldn't have developed sciences, and would have no way of knowing that we do infact share 98% of our genes with a hairy beast. You need to simplify your life, the Lord has all the answers.

In reality neither you nor I knows. It could just be how things worked out when he created the earth and animals. After all, I am sure he used means to bring about His creation, so the fact that there is a pattern or evidence of this doesn't startle.
